I had an idea last night while I was trying to get to sleep. It irritated me so much that I had to get up again and write it down to ensure I did it this morning.
I had already planned to ask 2 former managers of mine for references, should I need them with future employers. They are both still employed with the company I am contracted to through my security company, and had both worked their way up from the guard force.
My idea, though a bit of a stretch, was to ask for the references and imply that if they were able to do something about my suspension I would appreciate the help.
I sent the emails this morning and so now, as with everything else at the moment, it is wait and see time!
Not exactly ground-breaking stuff, but for me a milestone. I hate asking for help with anything. I always see it as a sign of weakness. But I have worked hard for these two managers in the past and they do owe me a bit. We shall see if it does have any impact, or even if they are prepared to provide references. Who knows what the company will allow them to do?
