Clapham Street Party

Yesterday I attended the Clapham Street Party for the first time. The weather was being its usual undecided self in the morning so I really couldn't decide what to wear. When it came time to leave it was still overcast and very windy, so I decided on jeans and a long sleeved top. By the time I got to Clapham the sun was out and I was roasting, typical. I met Eric in the queue for the cashpoint and Humberto was just across the road when I'd got my cash, very lucky eh?

We went in and, initially, I was a bit disappointed to see that the street party was just a street closed off for the day with one stage at the far end, that you had to be within 20 feet of to hear the music, singing or talking clearly, the rest was just a couple of "bars" and the toilets!

To start with there was no one there that I knew and even fewer good looking guys, but eventually, after Humberto had said hello to a million people (I may be exaggerating there) I started to see some people that I actually knew too, though not many.

We had a good day, the sun was out almost the whole time and, luckily for me, Manhunt were promoting there and so I got a free vest top from them which I had to pose in for a couple of photos. I was so happy to get out of the long sleeved top, but didn't want to go topless.

Thain and Darren were there, briefly. Roger was also there with a couple of gorgeous mates all in cowboy-style hats.

There were also a couple of celebrities: A porn star whose name escapes me at the moment, which is annoying because I watched a clip of one of his films yesterday on a blog and now it has been removed. One of the dancers from this years So You Think You Can Dance was also there.

I got a snog from a muscular guy, but failed to get his number (I think he may have had a boyfriend around somewhere though). In fact I didn't get anyone's numbers, or even their Facebook details.

But, all-in-all it was a great afternoon.

Humberto and Eric left around 21:30 and I went into Soho, first to Comptons and then to Rupert Street where I joined Giuseppe and Marco (both former snogs of mine) and their friends and had even more fun a great conversation. I ended up going home with Giuseppe, which seemed to take ages on the night bus.

We had sex, but I found, once again, that I couldn't sleep in someone else's bed and so had to go and sleep on the sofa. I didn't get much sleep though, maybe a couple of hours on and off, probably because of all the Red Bull I'd had with my vodkas! I eventually left his at around 9 and was so happy to get home and shower.

I am so tired now!!

Birthday Blues

Okay, so I've had a really boring and disappointing birthday today. I've spoken to about 10 people all day, that includes the incidental "hello's" to supermarket and gym staff etc. I have had a few text, some messages here on the blog, and lots of Facebook messages though, which was nice.
I didn't end up going to the cinema in the end. I got ready and left the flat all prepared to go into Soho, but as soon as I got to street level I just couldn't face going to the cinema all on my own being in the mood that I was (i.e. a slight downer).
I went to the gym instead. I was initially going to give the gym a miss today, as I've been the last 4 days, and to be honest I didn't do as much as I would have liked, but something is better than nothing.
And the best thing of all today was that I saw Jeirdel at the gym as I was warming up and he gave me that big smile of his which I love, came over to me straight away, shook my hand and wished me a "Happy Birthday" (only 2 people did that today in person, the other being the nurse who took my blood sample this morning). We chatted for a couple of minutes before I started my work out and he gave me a smile every time I saw him after that (he had a client to train). He also explained that a friend of his had arrived from Brazil on Saturday, which was why he hadn't turned up for my birthday drinks. Then, this evening, he also sent me a message on FB to say "Happy Birthday" again and tell me that it was nice to see me at the gym today.
I can see myself getting a total crush on him, more so than I did with Nick before, which could be really bad for my confidence again. It is entirely possible that he is just doing his job really well, being really friendly to me, a customer. But all I can think at the moment is, "what if he actually DOES like me?" At the moment I am going to take it as a positive thing, as I need something positive to come out of today.

With 12 days off still to come, I am so tempted to book a flight somewhere and get cheap accomodation, but I really can't afford it, with the posibility of a large deposit and first months rent to place soon coming up! I've unfortunately got the holiday bug now!

Tomorrow I am going to try and think of places to volunteer for, which is going to be difficult. I need to get some sort of edge on the job application front and I can only think that volunteering could be the way to do that. I've not seen any jobs recently to apply for either, so I am going to try and look at positions that I would not normally look at and see if I could see myself doing those jobs. I need something to change soon. I need more money, especially if I am going to be moving to this more expensive flat in August!!

I'm off to bed now, hopefully I will get a better night's sleep than I did last night, waking up every half an hour or so.

What I Always Wish For On My Birthday...

....just a little affection.

Birthday Drinks

So it was my birthday drinks last night and all-in-all I had a good time. I was really happy with the turnout, 15 people (though they weren't all there just for me), it was good to see everyone. Some were more of a surprise than others. It was really nice to see Zek out. I got to meet Richard's boyfriend at last. I was, however, really disappointed that Jeirdel wasn't there, that would have really made my night. That made me even more disappointed that there seemed to be a lack of hot guys out too. I did get one birthday kiss, from a guy I'd met before called Marco, though he isn't really my type. By the end of the night, being a bit drunk, I was a bit ratty and acted like a bit of an arsehole to Alfredo, who was the only one to stay with me the whole night. I apologised to him this morning.
I have a bit of a headache, but other than that no ill effects from the drinking.
