I met up with Bob in Crawley this morning and we went to a meeting with Barclays to see if they can give us an account after the debacle with RBS. We got into the bank and almost immediately went in to see the business manager. Unlike RBS, he had prepared some forms already, filled out some of the information and just asked us to fill in the blanks. We signed a couple of sample signatures and that was it.
He advised us that we should have an account number by the end of the day and the account should be open by the end of the week! WOW! Both Bob and I were in shock. We weren't expecting it to be that easy. It seems too easy for us to truly believe at the moment. It could be because we were recommended by our accountant who has already done some checks on us, but we don't know for sure.
We went to the office after having some lunch and discussed a few things, sorting out the wording for a newspaper advert and "things to do."
Quite a productive day and all in beautiful weather. But, again, we are still waiting to see if things are going to go as smoothly as the business manager seemed to think.
Am out for drinks tonight, hopefully meeting up with Tim a little later after he's had a drink with a former work colleague.
