London Pride day and I have woken up with a splitting headache which is quickly developing into a migraine (my second ever one!). On top of this it is absolutely pissing down outside. I think I may just stay at home and give it all a miss unless things imprve in the next 2 hours! I'll just have to wait until Soho Pride at the end of July.
If anyone feels like coming over and giving me a neck rub, please feel free, it just may help!!

Missed my chance
Today Bob and I had our meeting with the accountant, just to get his advice and to intoruce me to him (them). We went to the office first to discuss a few things and work on the computer and the meeting was as 14:30. He basically advised us not to both quit our current job, in fact he advised neither of us to quit, until the money really begins to come in. Not what we wanted to hear, but what we already knew I guess.
I got home about half an hour too late to register for the Deal or No Deal prize so I was a bit peeved. Oh well.
There have been some security incidents in central London today with a car bomb being left outside an allegedly tacky straight nightclub in Haymarket, and a couple of other suspect vehicle. With Hyde Park being evacuated too at one point. Some rumours were saying it was linked to tomorrow's London Pride event (which I thought may have been a possibility) but this turns out to be highly unlikely. Either way, it is more likely that the rain will dampen events more than a potential security risk. Queens are a tough bunch until you ruin their outfits, or hair, with a downpoor of rain!!

Off now
Am now off for 6 days:
Am visiting Crawley tomorrow to go to the office, meeting Bob, and seeing our accountant. Hopefully I will have time to get my comics and to log on to Deal Or No Deal 500th program (as the phone-up prize is bound to be HUGE!).
Saturday is LONDON PRIDE, but it is forecast to be pissing down all day! I guess I will have to encourage Tim and Co to relocate to a pub (or pubs) instead of Trafalgar Square (where Tim is hoping to watch the last episode of this season's Dr Who on a massive screen there!).
I have nothing planned for Sunday to Wednesday, and need to take it easy with money as it is 2 weeks to payday, but I think I will, at least, go and see the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (at last!).

Gay Avengers
I would love some of my ideas for Marvel Comics to be used, I have several if they want to contact me directly I can exxplain them in detail (i.e. bring back the Guardians of the Galaxy series and introduce an Imperial Guard on going series!!), but this idea is purely fun:
My choices for the team would be:
The Gay Avengers
I was exploring the world of GAY in Marvel recently and realised that there are many good gay characters in Marvel at the moment and would seriously like to have some comics focus on these characters while mentioning, though not focussing on, their sexuality (unlike the Northstar limited series which all but ignored his recent coming-out!). My choices for the team would be:
Living Lightning,
Northstar,
Typical
Over the last couple of days I have had a bit of a sore throat, but this morning I woke aching all over and feeling hot and cold at the same time, generally feeling like crap. I am at work at the moment and I really just want to snuggle up in my bed and wait for my fever to break.
To top this off we still have absolutely nothing to do, so I don't even have something to take my mind off of how crap I feel. I've already blogged (as you have seen), checked and updated facebook and done some work for the business and it's not even 10:00 yet!! Nightmare.

Unknown birthday boy
Today's birthday cutie is an American actor from the long-running soap General Hospital, Steve Burton. He is 37 and looking good. He is bit pretty for my usual tastes but there is something about him that lures my eye!! Happy Birthday Steve.

Beginning to hate the flat again
Bad Language Alert!
Please do not read if easily offended!
Just when I thought living in this bloody flat was getting okay! There have been quite a few instances which have really pissed me off lately!
A few days ago someone must have left the door to the pub open for ages as the whole flat stunk of smoke (roll on July 1st when it is all banned!).
About a week ago I woke to go to work only to find that Kevin, the landlord, had left the front door open all night! Not only that, but when I went outside I found that he had also left his keys (including the keys to the pub) in the door!
When Frank, the kitten, was first brought into the flat Kevin kept chucking him in my room for me to look after. No polite, "do you mind" or anything. I didn't mind doing it a couple of times, but he did this for about 4 days running!
Last week Frank decided that he didn't want to clean its arse anymore. He came into my room with a shitty bum and tail and proceeded to sit on my desk, paperwork, bed, floors and on my clothes. I had to throw stuff away, change my bedding and wash clothes that shouldn't have needed it.
This is all because when Kevin had my room decorated, eventually, he had the wardrobe knocked out, so I now have nowhere to hang anything. I'm not able to afford to buy even a simple rack at the moment as every penny is going into the business.
I do have a drying rail which, when not using it for drying I can hang things on (not much though), but I recently found out that Frank loves to hide under the rack and sharpen his claws on my clothes! Resulting in little holes and catches on some of my favourite shirts! The little bastard!
Despite having a washing machine in the basement for the pub washing, Kevin insists on bringing up washing and using the washing machine in the flat. This wouldn't be a problem if he ever emptied the thing, which he doesn't. So, if no one else has emptied it for him he just puts it on another wash because he is never sure how long he's left it there!
As I've mentioned many times before, the door to the pub is always being slammed. It isn't a conscious thing by the bar staff and Kevin, but it still annoys me because it could be at any time of day or night. And normally several times in a short space of time. The banging isn't always that loud, though sometimes it is, it is the shockwave it sends up the stairs which rattles my bedroom door, the window above it and the dividing wall between my room and the bedroom next door. It isn't something that is easy to sleep through. And with the lock-ins Kevin has, it can be any time of day or night!
Sarah, one of my flatmates is constantly having problems staying logged onto the internet. Kevin is meant to be sorting out a broadband connection for her instead of wireless, but he takes ages to sort anything that isn't for him. If it is for him, then it has to be done immediately, normally involving everyone else no matter what you are doing at the time!
Today, Sarah had problems again. She asked if she could have the wireless box as she had a tutorial to "attend" on line. Not a problem, as she had asked nicely, and I am a very amenable person (too amenable for my own good sometimes!).
So, despite the fact that I was chatting to someone on ManDate, I logged off, turned the laptop off, and unplugged the whole box. I carried the box and "millions" of wires attached to it into the living room. She had gone back into her bedroom and closed the door. Kevin told me she didn't need it at all!
I was a bit pissed off (and I was pissed off that Kevin was telling Frank to go into my room again and questioning why I didn't want the cat in there!). I told him why I was pissed off and he said "Don't be so grumpy!", so I told him to "Fuck Off!" meaning it in a semi-jovial way. He went off his head.
"Who are you telling to Fuck Off?" he shouted at me. "Maybe it's you who should Fuck Off!" I believe he meant it as in move out (believe me if I could afford to I would in a second!) Then he stormed downstairs into the pub because, by then, I was ignoring him while I was trying to figure out where all the wires for the "wireless" internet box went.
It would be just SO perfect if I won Deal Or No Deal on Friday as, being it's 500th show the phone-in jackpot is bound to be massive!! Wish me luck!!
The real Mr Men
I saw this picture on a profile on Facebook and laughed. I have mentioned before my love of the Mr Men books and so I think that this is brilliant.
Cricketting Hunk (2 words not normally seen together!)
Today marks the 27th birthday of the saviour of English cricket (basically the only one in the English team who plays consistantly well!). Kevin Pietersen, the South African born English batsman is probably the only cricketer (definately the only English one other than Mark Ramprakash) to get my juices flowing!! Have a great birthday Kev.

It's gonna be a long 4 days
Today is the second day of a 4 shift stint, working days and it feels neverending!! Yesterday was REALLY boring, today is also boring and long, just not quite as annoyingly long as yesterday was. This is probably because we are busier (yesterday we almost litterally had nothing to do!). I can't wait to finish the shifts, rest on Friday (although Bob is trying to arrange an appointment with our accountant for that day) and then have great fun at London Pride on Saturday.
Hopefully the rain will all be dispersed and we will have a great, not-too-hot and not-too-cold day, with lots of gorgeous men and lots of friends around to get pissed with.

Birthday Wrestler
Today marks the 33rd birthday of American wrestler, "Your Teacher", Matt Striker (real name Matthew Kaye), who apparently was actually a social studies teacher prior to becoming a wrestler.
You couldn't p p p pick up THIS penguin
Fossils of a giant penguin have been found in Peru. Icadyptes salasi, to give the huge bird its name, would have been approximately 1.5m tall (5ft), dwarfing any of its living cousins. The bird also had a long thin beak. As many as 4 other species of penguins were found along with this one in an area which would have been more tropical than arctic!

Why?
My straight work colleague Andy has just come down from doing a job on one of the floors and while he was in the lift, a member of staff was eyeing him up. Every time Andy looked at the guy he looked away, and then when the guy got out of the lift he said to Andy, "Have a nice day!" He obviously liked him.
Why does this never happen to me? There are tons of gorgeous guys who work here and none of them ever even take a second look at me! To quote Kevin Patterson, "It's so unfair!"
Obviously Andy must look more gay than me!!

Birthday Hunk
Today we have Estonian decathlete Erki Nool. Sounds pretty obscure, but he is a class athlete who I have been aware of for some time. The decathlon has to be my favourite event in track and field, sparked initially by Daley Thompson, and Erki is one of the best. (It helps that decathletes have the best bodies too!) It also helps that he is a sexy f****r!!

The Baby
Before I went to see my niece and nephew perform I went to my other sisters' house to see her, my niece and my great-niece! Everyone was looking well and Courtney is beautiful!! She spent most of the afternoon asleep and hardly opened her eyes, but she is SO cute. Apparently Mikala is doing really well with her and Maxine is helping out quite a bit.
I also had a play with Maxine's dogs, one of whom is getting on, but the other is still a puppy and loved bouncing on the large trampoline with me in the garden (probably the only real exercise I've had this year!). Just a shame that I'd trodden in some dog-muck in the garden without knowing it (the grass was overgrown!!), and got that and dog-paw prints all over my trousers and top!

A couple of real stars
I have literally just got back from seeing my niece and nephew perform in a review with their youth drama group (Baylees Theatre School) at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon, Essex. The review was called Kaleidoscope and was actually quite good. The group is based at Grays School (spit spit, old enemies from when I was a kid, as I went to Torells!), and aged from about 4 to 16, and there were some real talents there.
My niece, Molly, didn't really have much to do, singing in the chorus and bringing on some props. But when she was on stage she always had a great big smile on her face.
My nephew, Joe, on the other hand, was on stage quite a lot. There seemed to be 4 principle boys in the group and he was one of them, although all the others got to sing solo and he didn't.
He did play a policeman in one section, which even included some talking. And was in the background in another section where he was walking a dog: the dog was a stuffed one, so he was basically pulling it along the floor, quite comical especially when he pulled the lead sharply and got the dog to "jump" into his arms!! The whole audience loved that bit.
The only downside, really, was that they had problems with the microphones. Not everyone had head mikes, and those who did didn't always have them switched on! So it was difficult to hear some of the singing, especially as the "backing" music was so loud. That and the fact that the theatre was way too warm, every one was fanning themselves with whatever was available. But, it was highly enjoyable, nevertheless.
Other than relatives, obviously, there were five kids whose performances stood out for me:
A young guy who played Aladdin, who was great (although not a singer).
A young girl who played Annie. She was a good singer and very confident.
2 of the principle boys stood out to me, the other I dont know. I guess they stood out because they had the majority of the roles, but they were good singers. And one of them, called Chay, was even quite attractive (despite being FAR too young!!).
And one of the eldest girls, whose name I was told but have forgotten, was a beautiful singer and not a bad actress either. I have a feeling that she will go far.
They are performing again tomorrow, so go and see it if you have a spare evening.

I forgot......
I got a text from my sister Lynn earlier today:
So I am going to get a train to my sister's (Maxine) in Basildon late morning tomorrow, that is where my niece and great-niece are staying at the moment, and spend a few hours there, then get Lynn to pick me up on the way to the show (which also happens to be in Basildon). After the show I can get a train back. At least I will have achieved something else during my week off.
What was distressing though, was the fact that Lynn told me that she was off work at the moment after having a hysterectomy!
I had known nothing about this and it brought back memories of my mum. She had had a hysterectomy when I was at school, and died about 10 years later of ovarian cancer.
Luckily, Lynn reassured me that her surgery was merely preventative, so that she doesn't develope that cancer later on. I guess it must have been a difficult decision, but she has had four children and wasn't planning on having any more (Adrian, my brother-in-law, has had the snip anyway), but even so, not an easy thing to decide or to endure.
"What time are you getting here tomorrow for the show?"
I completely forgot that I had agreed to go and see my niece and nephew in a play that their drama group is performing. I was going to try and make excuses, as I don't really feel like travelling to Essex but I guess I should put myself out and I can go and see my great-niece at the same time. I got my surprise!!
I asked for a surprise for my birthday and I got it earlier today. I was laying on my bed, catching up with reading my comics when my phone rang. At first I couldn't understand what the person calling was saying (which I find with the phone quite a lot, I have trouble understanding people, which is why I tend to text rather than phone!). I turned out to be my mate Deano from Aus! I was really pleased to hear from him. I really miss hanging out with him and chatting about comics and other things. I think I will have to take a business trip over to Melbourne at some point.
Last Night
I had a great night out last night. I met Tim at 19:00 and we went to Barcode, the Duke of Wellington, Comptons, Box, Rupert Street, and then back to Barcode. I was quite wasted! I remember I ended up snogging some guy who I'd met before!
Out of the 10 things I wanted for my birthday, I'm afraid to say I didn't get many! 2, to be truthful! I looked great (even if I do say so myself!) and I had a snog. But that's about it! There was not much eye candy about, I didn't meet anyone new, and not a sign of cock!!

It is also my niece's birthday today. Mikala is 19, so along with the new baby, she has had quite an eventful month so far!! Happy Birthday 'Kala!
Birthday Fighter
Today's birthday boy is Randy Couture, an American mixed martial arts fighter who is 44 today. Great body Randy! Wanna share it?
