Lee phoned me during the morning and asked if I was off work (despite being told that I was off for 7 days, eight days before!. He wanted to meet up in Soho for drinks as he had managed to find some money from somewhere! I said no, not on a work night.
Instead of going out, I stayed in and watched the England v Tonga Rugby World Cup match on ITV. I really though that it would be slow torture, as England haven't been playing well at all, and if we lost this match we were out of the World Cup altogether. I was really pleasantly surprised. They played brilliantly, with a few mistakes when I thought they were really going to mess things up on a couple of occasions.
In the end they won and it was an amazing match, with both teams playing well. I actually felt sorry for the Tongan team, as, based on overall performance through the tournament, they probably deserved it a bit more than England. But in the end, I may not be the most patriotic English person, I do love my English teams!
It is difficult to pick a man of the match for me as so many of them made an actual difference to the match:

Paul Sackey has been amazing, before this World Cup I hadn't seen him play at all, but he has been amazing who has shone as a likely replacement for the speedy Paul Robinson in the speed department.
Lewis Moody was battered throughout the match and I bet he is really sore this morning. He just kept getting back up and coming back for more.

Andy Gomarsall, for me, seems to be the best choice for a new captain of the squad (as opposed to the past captains, temporary captains and the captain who wasn't even on the pitch at the beginning of last nights match!)

Mark Cueto also seemed to be in the thick of things for most of the match and played an important role.

Overall though, I think Sackey gets the vote for MY man-of-the-match!
Well done boys, keep up the good work for the next match (Australia! God help us!).
At the end of the match I decided to go straight to bed and get a good night's sleep before work the next day. I woke at about 03:30 in the morning feeling like crap! I was really warm, but not sweating, I was shivering violently (I think that may be what woke me up), and my throat was dry and sore. I went to the loo, turned the central heating on and put on another t-shirt and pair of socks (to add to the socks, boxers, vest-top, and track suit I was already wearing), I stuffed tissues into the air vents on my main window, to stop the breeze coming in and put a towel over my quilt on the bed as well.
I phoned work to say I wouldn't be in for the next shift, even though I can't really afford to miss any days. Then I went back to bed.
I woke at about 10:30 feeling slightly better, but with an aching back and neck and still with a sore throat and headache. I'll probably be back in tomorrow, but I'll wait until this afternoon to let work know.
