John Barrowman

The now infamous John Barrowman was born in the Mount Vernon area of Glasgow, Scotland on the 11th March 1967. At the age of 8 he moved to the USA with his parents when his father relocated with his employers Caterpillar to Aurora, Illinois.
Barrowman attended Joilet West High School until graduation in 1985 and it was at this school he got his first roles in several musicals, such as Oliver!, Hello, Dolly!, and Anything Goes.
After attending university in San Diego he returned to the UK in 1990 after gaining his London West End debut in Cole Porter's Anything Goes in the previous year. He then landed a presenting job on the BBC's Saturday morning kids show Live & Kicking, hosting its Electric Circus segment and later moving onto The Movie Show.
Going on to star in many other West End shows, including Miss Saigon, Grease!, Hair and the lead in The Phantom of the Opera, he earned his deserved reputation as one of the West End's major musical stars. He has also appeared in a few non musical roles including A Few Good Men with Rob Lowe, and then the obligatory pantomimes.
In 1997, in an ironic twist, Barrowman lost out on the leading role in an upcoming sitcom Will & Grace. The reason he didn't land the part was because the producers apparently felt that he was “too straight.” The role eventually went to Eric McCormack, a straight actor.
Probably Barrowman's defining moment, as far as the ordinary British (and world's) public are concerned, came in April 2005, when he appeared as Captain Jack Harkness in an episode of the reinvigorated Dr Who series. His character proved popular in this and subsequent guest spots in the show leading Russell T Davis to launch a spin-off series as a vehicle for Barrowman and his omnisexual character Jack, this show was Torchwood. After a shaky start and a series which received mixed reviews, it was given a second series and has lived up to the trust put in it and is going from strength to strength. With the success and high profile of his initial Dr Who appearances Barrowman also starred in many other television shows around the same time, including Dancing On Ice, This Morning and as a judge on both How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria? and Any Dream Will Do. Soon after he seemed to be everywhere on television, sometimes on more than one channel at the same time.
Since 1993 he has been in a relationship with his partner Scott Gill. The couple have homes in London and Cardiff. Despite telling the Scottish newspaper The Herald that he had no plans to marry he did later enter into a civil partnership with Gill on Boxing Day 2007.
Currently starring in the second series of Torchwood and in a few episodes of the upcoming series of Dr Who he will also be reappearing as a judge on the new “search” show of I'd Do Anything, looking for new stars to play Oliver and Nancy in the upcoming production of Oliver! He is also set to appear in Hotel Babylon on the 25th March.

I have always liked watching musicals. And Phantom of the Opera ticketsis my favourite one!
Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera is a much acclaimed musical that only the best artists are chosen for the play. I prefer watch it on stage than on screen. Imagining and seeing the characters coming to life, would be just phenomenal!
I just can't wait! We are planning to attend but we are looking to buy cheap tickets .A classmate has recommended me an interesting site, and I notice that they really have cheap ones…
