I've just finished watching the second episode of the this series of Torchwood on BBC iPlayer (as I was working when it was on last night). It was action packed, and full of brilliant lines and didn't have to reply on gay kisses or (too much) sexual innuendo. It possibly paved the way for an on-going, series-long story line, I shall have to ask Tim if this is the case next time we go for drinks (which hopefully will be tomorrow!!).
Some great lines included:
When Beth was taken into the main Torchwood base area, she was examining an object closely when Ianto said sternly:
"We don't sniff the [something I couldn't make out] resonator!"
After Jack told Beth that the procedure that they were going to be performing would indeed hurt, she replied:
"Your bedside manner is atrocious!", to which Gwen answered
"You should see his manners in bed, they're terrible ....... apparently..... so I've been told!" with Ianto chipping in,
"Yeah! They are. I remember this one time..." before being interupted by a cough from Jack.
After passing on some useful information, Ianto was asked:
"How do you know that?"
"I know everything!" he said for the second time this episode,
"And it says so on the bottom of the screen!" pointing at he monitor he was standing by!!
and finally, when racing to save the planet Jack comments:
"With a dashing hero like me on the case, how can we fail?" to which Ianto says to the others:
"He is dashing, you have to give him that!"
Great writing, you have to give the show that. If it doesn't win any drama awards then it should win comedy ones.
Ianto's character also appeared a lot more confident in this episode, maybe in the last one he was just in shock at the return of Jack! Hopefully his new confidence will be explored at a later date!
Oh, forgot to mention that the paramedic in the show, played by Derek Lea, was horny too with the green paramendic uniform aiding in the sex appeal! Looking up the name I have found that he is a stunt man, coordinator and actor. Talented man!
