Well, work is certainly ........ interesting lately. Probably the wrong word to use, as it the only interesting thing is who has been sacked each time I go into work now! On Tuesday night, when I arrived at work, I found out that 2 guys (from the same shift) had both been sacked. There was no explanation as to why, but I would imagine that one of them was the person who had left early without being relieved, as mentioned to us the other morning. The other guy may have been sacked for the same reason or for turning off the fire alarm system!!! Not a clever thing to do.
Then, when we got in yesterday we found out that another guy had gone. He had been sat at the reception desk by the heater at the centre of the desk. It gets quite cold in reception as it is the only place in the building without adequate heating, the heater only warms you if you sit directly in front of it. The senior guard saw him on camera and for some reason thought sitting in the centre of the desk was unprofessional and asked him to move. He did this, but when he was relieved he shoved his chair away frightening the receptionist, and then stormed down to the control room and had a shouting match at the senior guard, throwing his radio at him in the process! So he was escorted off site. This information came from just one side, so I don't know how accurate it is!
So, now there are only 3 guards left (other than the useles senior guard). I have been moved to another shift to work with a new guy who is starting on Monday (I bet he isn't cute, but I'll let you know!!).
We had a third guard working with us last night, who had come from the other site owned by the client, so I guess he is going to be working with us too!
On the way home from work this morning I posted 7 letters applying for vacancies with large corporations in the City. All were just speculative enquiries as they have not advertised, so it will probably come to nothing but I am getting desperate to leave this horrible place. I don't trust anyone there, though Sebastian seems okay.
