***** SPOILER WARNING*****
Please do not read this if you intend to watch Torchwood: Children of Earth (and I highly recommend that you DO watch it, it was brilliant).
I have just watched the first episode of the new Torchwood series: Children of Earth. To sum it up: "Wow!!"
Not as big of a "Wow" as Star Trek got but it was very, very, very good.
I am not going to go into too much detail as I don't want to spoil it for anyone too weak to avoid reading further here, and I also want to watch it again myself before commenting further (which I hope to do tomorrow via BBC iPlayer), just so that I can make sure I didn't miss anything pertinent to the story.
I wasn't expecting too much from the story to be honest, the trailers looked okay but didn't do the story justice at all. There was character development for all of the main characters including padding out all of their family histories... ALL of them.
I hope that Tim was able to watch it in whichever ward he is resting in at the moment. He would have loved it (I know Richard is recording it for him anyway, and if he wasn't I'm sure The Mill would sort something out for him, once he's recovered).
I cannot wait for part 2 tomorrow. My flatmate Alex was watching with me and even though he has never watched Torchwood before, he is hooked. Roll on tomorrow night at 21:00.
