HAPPY NEW YEAR

Just wanted to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR as I do a quick review of my year. I hope that you all have a fantastic night.

This year has been a fairly uneventful one for me but lets think....

I began the year bored and so, once I discovered blogs I decided to start my own. I didn't think that anyone would be interested in what I had to say, or post but I have had over 6000 readers so far and that is just since I added the counter (which was after about 2 months).
We had a fairly good summer with great, sunny days for London & Soho Prides, but I didn't bother with Brighton Pride this year.
England have done their usual top-rate job in the international sporting world, World Cup, Olympics and the Ashes!! Yes that was me being sarcastic!!
Terror continues to top the news headlines, but at least one tyrant has now gone for good. Bye Bye Saddam!
I finally decided that I actually liked my job (most of the time) for the first time ever, and then they go and decide to disband the team! Hopefully next year will see me joining the new team that is replacing us!
And I have seen even less of my former best mate Lee as he continued to put up with and forgive increasingly inexcusable acts of bitchiness, selfishness and sometimes pure evil from his ex.
But I was happy to have my mate Tim here in London and Dean in Australia to rely on and to chat to.

I don't lead a very exciting life, but I hope to change that in the new year:
  • Firstly, I am going to attempt to pay off the remainder of my debts in the coming year.
  • Hopefully I will get to take my first holiday abroad for 12 years!
  • I would love to find someone special this year (who knows, miracles can happen).
  • As well as this I would love to make more GOOD, close friends as I have only a few and most of those do not live near me.
  • As I said before, hopefully I will get to join the new team at work (meaning busier days, more responsibility, and more money. This will also mean a very good chance of being taken in-house by the bank and getting extra benefits of pensions, medical, gym membership and bigger bonuses.
  • Try and get the motivation to get back to the gym, or at least exercise again.
  • Hopefully early in January, I want to move to a new home (probably a flat rather than a flat-share and inevitably resulting in higher bills, but it has to be done!).
  • But, most importantly, just be happy as much as I can. Something which I have managed for most of this year for the first time in quite a while. Not easy when you suffer from depression, but with the right medication and friends it can be achieved. (Maybe I should blog how I manage my depression in the new year some time?)

Anyway, have a great night tonight. I am staying in, as I have work in the morning and I don't like working when I'm tired and have a hangover.

Goodbye 2006 and welcome 2007

Hot Birthday Boys

Today marks the 26th birthdays of 2 cute guys who I hadn't heard of before today:
The first is an American wrestler called Matt Cross, also known as M-Dogg (great bod);
The second is Richie McCaw, a New Zealand rugby player, very cute but I haven't seen the body (he plays rugby, how bad could it be?).
HAPPY BIRTHDAY boys.

"Work Work Work"

I am working my last of 9 shifts tonight, tomorrow I have 24 hours off and then I am back for 4 day shifts. After that, with the Christmas season all over I can get back to normal, and finally go out for a good long drinking session with Tim and his other half Richard. I am really looking forward to it. BRING ON THE CIDER!!!

Birthday time again

Today marks the birthdays of 2 men I know very little about, but would like to know more:

Firstly we have Adam Vinatieri, an American Football star who is 34 today.

and
Secondly we have Frank Sepe who is a bodybuilder popular on gay blog-sites, among other places, who is 35.

Worship and adore them both at your leisure.

Congratulations

I am glad to send my congratulations to Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy (thanks to Gab for correcting my previous mistake on Karen's name) who deservedly won the Strictly Come Dancing television third series finale last night with some great dances for non-professionals. Mark has performed amazingly well all through the series and it is amazing that he had never danced before. Well done Mark (and Karen for tutoring him) and congratulations to all those who participated for the money they helped raise for Children In Need. Good job done, I think.

Christmas Birthday Greetings

Christmas Eve today and it is the birthday of 2 sexually ambiguous hotties;

Firstly there is Ryan Seacrest, an American television presenter who I know very little about, but apparently there are many rumours going around and he appears to be bisexual, at least.

The other hottie is Ricky Martin who is 35 today. Ricky's sexuality has been the subject of much discussion with Ricky himself refusing to comment. Though, interestingly he was quoted as saying, in an interview with American Blender magazine that he like to give his partners golden showers. He later regretted being so candid! Duh!

CHRISTMAS GREETINGS TO ALL

No pics as Blogger is playing up....
I am sending this message today in case I forget tomorrow, as I may be going out straight from work.
I hope everyone reading has a great Christmas, whether you are working or not, with family or friends or even alone.
If, like me, it is the worst time of year, then just try and distract yourself with good thoughts, good friends and good memories. Don't regret or regress (or regurgitate) if possible, and think about those who are missing fondly, and not about the gap they may leave, they wouldn't want you sad at this, of all times.
By all means have a cry, as laughter means less without tears, but enjoy all the good things that can come from this time of year and celebrate in your own special way.
To those of you who I know, have a fantastic time whatever you are doing.
To those I don't know, WHY don't I know you yet?
To those who I haven't seen for a while 2007 will be my year to make up for this.

The NEW Fantastic Four?

I saw this picture about a week ago proclaiming the NEW Fantastic Four, but I wasn't sure whether to believe it or not. Unfortunately it is true, Storm and the Black Panther are new members of Marvel's first Super-Team. Now I don't know about you, but I feel that the Fantastic Four just isn't the same without the original four members. I understand why Reed has been replaced, and I guess Sue is looking after the kids, but other members should've been picked I think. Give Storm a well deserved rest, please.

Namor couldn't be picked because of the pending war between Atlantis and the USA, ditto for any Inhumans (though Triton would be a great member I believe!). Tigra has sided with S.H.I.E.L.D. as has She-Hulk, which doesn't leave many traditional FF allies to pick from.

So, who should they have picked:

Stingray, scientist-type with heroic tendencies and former ally of Namor and the Thing;

Lyja, Skrull shapeshifter and ex-wife of Johnny;

Nova, when (if) he returns from the Annihilation Wave battle. He could be the hothead to make Johnny grow up a little, or even, after his war experiences, be the more mature warrior to Johnny's childish nature?

And how about the final return of Marrina, before her eventual reconciliation with Namor? It is about time, especially as we know she IS alive!!

My mate astounds me

I've thought long and hard about posting my thoughts on this subject, which is fairly personal, but have decided that I have to get things off my chest, I am so mad at the moment.

My mate Lee, who I've mentioned several times, is coming over tonight for my works Christmas party to celebrate his birthday and meet his old work colleagues (those who are still there anyway). He was meant to be staying at my place, but has informed me that he will be staying at his ex-boyfirends tonight. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but this ex recently stitched up Lee badly by telling Lee's dad that he regularly goes to cruising areas, thus potentially getting the family business a bad reputation. The reason that this ex did it? Because Lee was out for drinks with a different guy!

This ex has some serious mental health issues, in my opinion. When they were together, whenever I would meet up with Lee (my best mate and closest confidant at the time) the ex would always phone up and start an argument with Lee to ruin our drinks or meal or whatever we were doing. Apparently, he did this mainly with me, but also sometimes with others.

Now, to mess Lee's evening up with this other guy, he does the one thing that he knows will get Lee in trouble, tells Lee's dad something he doesn't want to hear! Lee was summoned to see his father immediately and had a very unpleasant chat with him. The ex had long threatened Lee that he was going to tell his dad that Lee is a coke addict, which is untrue, but he said he would say that because Lee's dad is VERY anti-drugs (and rightly so in my opinion!).

On top of this Lee has suffered verbal and physical abuse from this ex and the ex has also worn away his self-confidence to almost nothing over the space of just over 2 years!

Despite all this he has been treated to holidays, brought expensive jewelry (which he accused Lee's dad of trying to buy him!) and many other benefits from Lee's dad and step-mum, including the chance of a very highly-paid job in the family business. He is seriously fucked-up (excuse the language).

Lee told me last week that he wanted nothing more to do with this ex, but has gone back on his word in less than a week. Over the last 2 and a half years I have lost my best friend, someone who I spent a great deal of time with and who was an emotional rock for me, as I was to him I believe. We have been through so many good and bad times and I will always be his friend, but we just do not have that tight bond that we used to. We have gone from seeing each other several times a week to seeing each other about 6 times a year! All because of this twat with mental health issues.

I thought that I was getting the best Christmas present ever by getting my best friend back, but it looks like I was a bit premature with that hope. I guess I will have to hope for someone to share Christmas Eve night with instead as my Christmas pressie!
Thanks to "Beauty and the Bum" for the picture.

Bit worried

Just checked my profile, as I do from time to time, to find that I have had 666 views!! Spooky!

Nearly forgot Jake!!!

I have no excuse except I have been out the flat all day distributing Christmas pressies to my nephews and nieces. I nearly forgot to mention that today is the birthday of gay fave, Jake Gyllenhaal. The gorgeous, boy-next-door actor is 26 today and I wish him all the best (belated though it is slightly!). Jake is a name to look out for over the next decade as I believe he is a skillful actor who could probably turn his hand to any role he wants. Watch out Tom Cruise, your crown is about to be stolen by someone not so freaky!!

A plethora of hunky birthday boys

I'll start with the one that you most probably have never heard of:
Anthony Catanzaro, who is an American male fitness model and bodybuilder who is 36 today. Check out the pics and let me know if you think he is worthy of a mention. (I know what your answer will be!)
Secondly we have gorgeous Casper van Dien, most known for starring in Starship Troopers. This actor is 38 years old today.
Thirdly, not everyones favourite, but a fave of mine, Stone Cold Steve Austin, who is 42 today.
And lastly, and surprisingly the oldest of this bunch, Brad Pitt is 43 today!! Can you believe that?
