The Decade

While bored at work the other night I decided to expand on my idea for "The Decade." To recap, each decade in the last century has had it's own events and character; the 40's were dominated by World War II; the 60's for free love and the hippy movement; the 80's for Thatcherism, Yuppies and greed.
The decade we are in now is known as the Noughties and is itself dominated by terrorism, war and natural disasters. What will the next decade hold for us? And what will we call it? "The Tens" just doesn't have the right ring to it.
A while back I came up with the idea of "The Decade". It sort of works because it is a decade (duh), it is the ten-plus numbers, so the "dec" of decade works.
What could The Decade stand for though? Whatever we want it to, but after the negativity of the Noughties how about making The Decade a time for positive change? And how about focussing on ten different "problems" to reinforce the "ten" theme?

The ten subjects I would suggest would be:
1) Environment / Climate Change
2) Violent (knife / gun) crime
3) Oppressive Regimes
4) HIV / AIDS (and other diseases?)
5) Drugs trafficking and abuse
6) Slavery / People trafficking
7) Child Abuse
8) Terrorism
9) Famine
10) Education and Fitness

I'm sure that you may have come up with a different selection of 10 things to "solve", but I think this covers a broad spectrum of problems which can be shown to have achievable targets. Some of these topics would overlap (such as drug trafficking, knife & gun crime and people trafficking), but each is an important subject in its own right.
I think to really launch my plan I need a big international name, with big bucks, to get it planned properly and effectively, and to get it noticed by the media and to implement it fully. So, if anyone out there knows the personal emails of Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Al Gore or Donald Trump, them please let me know.
