I'm bored. This is my 3rd night shift, preceeded by 3 day shifts and tonight has just been mind numbing!! Nothing to do and nothing to watch on television! I am so glad that I have 5 days off now (then 1 day back [for training], then another 1 off, and then back for another 4 night shifts!).
I think today, depending on when I get up, I will get some more boxes for my comics (only another 14 to get before I have enough for my present collection, let alone for the ones I will collect in the mean-time and the future!!), and hopefully go out for drinks with Tim (though I don't know when he is free this week, I'll have to text him when I get up).
Comic day is a day late this week, due to the bank holiday, so I'll get them tomorrow. And, at some point in the next 5 days I will pop down to the office and get some work saved on the work computer. Hopefully the bank account will be sorted out sometime in the next week too.

Big Brother Letdown!!
I am currently watching this years Big Brother, mainly to see who is going in! And, so far I am VERY VERY disappointed. Why? Well, the program has been on for an hour now and there are NO men!! ELEVEN WOMEN!! WHY!! What a waste of F******G time, I really do not see the point of it! There do not even seem to be any interesting people, lots of bimbos and loud people.
I guess I will only be watching it when I'm at work, when there is nothing else on!
I didn't expect to be over-enamoured with the whole program this year (as I haven't been since the first series), but there really is no reason to watch it this year (so far!).
I would love to see a few nice, gorgeous, guy-next-door type men some time in Big Brother, but there haven't been any that I can recall since Craig in the first series. I may just give up ALL hope.

Anyone know Jake?
I am still obsessed with Jake Gyllenhaal, can't get enough. I've lost count of the number of times I've watched "Day After Tomorrow", and I love all the other films that I've seen so far, though I'm trying to limit the number of times I watch Brokeback, as I find it a really depressing, though brilliant, film. Any one out there know Jake, and can introduce me? I just wanna see if he is the same as I imagine him to be: down to earth, family orientated, hard-working and easy-going!

Birthday Girl (Yes Girl!)
I couldn't not NOT mention Kylie. Today is her 39th birthday. Now Kylie is a woman to be admired, not just for overcoming her recent cancer trial, but for remaining a nice person despite being given ample oportunity to go the way that PH and LL have (see yesterday's entry), and I admire her for this most of all. I used to know someone who designed for her nad he told me she was lovely, I would like to have the oportunity to find outr for myself at some point.
Happy Birthday Kylie!
Birthday gymnast
Today is the 31st birthday of fantastic Russian gymnast Alexei Nemov. I've admired his skills (and body) for years and vividly remember the 2004 Athens Olympics when he was placed third after performing a fantastic display on the high bars, with some competitors still to go. The crowd were in uproar at the judges decision and errupted in a barrage of noise for almost 15 minutes, after which the judges revealuated their scores, giving him a higher mark but not changing his position. The crowd continued their noisy protests until Alexei himself came back up onto the platform and begged the crowd to quiet down so the competition could continue. The phrase "he was robbed" is most apt when it came to this competition. He quit his gymnastics career soon after this.

Once again...
Some Russians in Moscow have proved, once again what a backward nation they are by attacking gay rights protestors, the gay rights protestors being arrested after being assaulted. Apparantly it is not only illegal to be gay, but also to be gay AND to be assaulted!!
Makes me feel lucky that we have it so "easy" here with our Pride events. I'm looking forward to London Pride on 30th June and Soho Pride on 29th July (hope the weather lives up to the last few years' example!)

Waste of space
I hate giving the bitch publicity (even bad publicity) but I've just read that Lindsay Lohan (who?) has been arrested for drunk driving. This comes not long after Paris Hilton (another famous for being famous bitch), was done for the same reason. Now I know a few people who have been done for the same offence and I cannot defend them, there is no excuse, but these "women" are just bad examples in almost everything they seem to do and I personally am sick to death of hearing about them.
Why are people so interested in the actions of these non-celebrities? I just do not understand. I urge everyone to stop giving these useless women publicity (hence the lack of posts below naming them!!). We can't take away the thing that fuels their actions (money) especially in the case of Ms Hilton, but take away the other thing that they feed on: ATTENTION.

Not much of a dream left!!
I watched the beginning of Any Dream Will Do when Dr Who finished tonight and I saw that last week one of the strongest contestants, Daniel, was voted out!! I can't believe it, he was a fantastic singer and performer. Now the only real talent (singing talent) is Lee, who is a bit arrogant, but has the talent so he can afford to be. I can't be bothered to watch the series any more, as most of each program will not feature someone who I think can actually sing consistantly well, but I will keep an eye on who stays in!
Just noticed
I've reached 3500 clicks since 9th March 2007, (1000 clicks since 2nd May) and I'm thrilled, I hope those who are clicking on the blog like what they read, enjoy the pictures and have some fun.
Modern take on a classic series of books
I was sent this picture by my friend Alexis from Torquay and I loved it:
An updated, more realisitc version of the classic Mr Men books, which I loved when I was a kid (and still do, if I'm honest!). Check them out, I think I know real-life versions of all of them!
At last..
Today's episode of Dr Who was fantastic, back to great stories (I think I prefer the 2[or more]-parter stories). Martha is great, and it looks like the Doctor is going to spawn a family himself in the second part of the story next week (could have interesting repurcussions!!). Great.
I'm rediscovering my love of all things prehistoric
Since I was recently banned from my room (while it was being redecorated), I was "forced" to watch more television with the option of more channels. I rediscovered the Discovery Channel and all the other documentary channels and managed to watch a couple of interesting programs on prehistoric animals. It re-ignited my interest in palaeontology (which I was very interested in at school and about 4 years back). So I began reading some of the many books I have on dinosaurs and prehistoric animals. While at work yesterday I discovered the Discovery Channel's dinosaur site.

Star Wars Anniversary
Today marks the 30th Anniversary of the first screening of Star Wars (the original) in the USA. There is a convention to mark the occasion in Los Angeles today. I would love to be there, but I bet it is packed and I imagine a lot of the hardcore Star Wars geeks would have been too excited to remember to use their deodorant too!
I am a HUGE fan of Star Wars, it really sparked my imagination as a kid and I had the original run of 13 figures for Christmas that year, but I am not a snob. I enjoyed ALL 6 films and the 2 Ewok films too. I have a massive collection of Star Wars figures, videos, books and comics (so much, in fact that much of the collection has to be boxed up and in storage at the moment!).
