Eye Eye

I have just returned from my appointment at the hospital. What a waste of time! Granted I was only there for just over an hour, so it could have been a lot worse, but the doctor basically told me the same as my optician(s) had ..... I have a mark of some sort on my eye!! I knew that already!!!
Now he has to refer me to another doctor, a specialist (I thought that was who I had gone to see). It is really frustrating.
What is more frustrating is that the doctor that I did see was a bit over enthusiastic with the dye he put in my eye, so it ended up covering one side of my face as well and was all over my hand where I had tried to "mop" it up. It won't all come off with soap either, so I guess I will have to wait and hope it wears off quickly.
I was also embarrassed as I wasn't expecting to have to get a prescription today. The doctor prescribed eye drops and I had to explain, rather loudly through thick glass that I have no money at the moment as it is my payday tomorrow. Luckily I was told that I could come back another day to pay for it.
So, I still do not know what this thing on (in?) my eye is, or if it will cause any further problems (other than inconvenience, which it certainly seems intent on doing), and have to wait for another letter TELLING ME when my next appointment is going to be (apparently I don't get a choice this time!). Let's just hope that I am off work at the time.
