At Last

Despite today being accompanied by some small problems at work (2 burst water pipes on separate floors, for no apparent reason and the subsequent lack of water in the building for most of the day; And a contractor disabling the access control system on one door) and the subsequent extra work that this required, today was probably the least stressful day at work for a hell of a long time. I like being busy (not that even this work could be considered "being busy" but it's the closest this place gets!), and so prefer days like today than the non-eventful ones.

What also made the day better was that I managed to sell some more of my comics to one of my work colleagues. Okay, I didn't get a fantastic price for them, only £10, but some of the comics were only in good condition (rather than excellent as most of mine are). And £10 is £10. Not that I am skint this month at all, or shouldn't be. I have worked out that, barring emergencies, I can afford to spend £200 a week (including food etc), but have limited myself to £150, meaning that I should be left with money at the end of the month to subsidise July! I bet it doesn't work out that way, but at least my intentions are good.

I also managed to apply for another job today as a "Star Administrator". I don't know what the "star" bit refers to, but the job was decent money, was only asking for intermediate Word / Excell skill and seemed to be aimed at someone who wants to change to that employment sector. Ideal for me. It was also in the City of London, so I would not have to travel far (unless I eventually have to move from "The Flat From Hell" when Kevin sells).

I was in a fair mood all day, but as soon as I walked out of the front door when I had finished my shift a great big grin spread across my face as I am now off work for another 12 day stretch. I intend to do some retail therapy tomorrow, buying some much needed new clothing and essentials from Superdrug. Then the lead-up to my birthday will start with a couple of preparatory nights out before the big day on the 21st (though I might have my ACTUAL drinks on the night before as my birthday is on a Sunday it may put people off from attending [like there are going to be lots of people there!!!]).
