Not much to do at work today, so we have Columbo on. Watching it, I was reminded of a fantastic film called "Murder By Death."
It also starred Peter Falk along with several other major stars including Maggie Smith, Peter Sellers, David Niven, Alec Guiness, Nancy Walker, Truman Capote, and Elsa Lanchester.
Most were playing spoof versions of famous literary detectives with names like Sam Diamond, Inspector Milo Perrier, Miss Jessica Marbles, Inspector Sidney Wang, and Dick and Dora Charleston. It is a bit slapstick but fantastically funny with Alec Guiness playing a blind butler and Nancy Walker playing a deaf maid.
I must look out for it on DVD. It is a must-see film.
