Nine Glasgow firefighters are to face the sack for refusing to man a stall at the local Pride festival. Ridiculous. Now as much as I love seeing men in uniform, they shouldn't be forced to attend non-fire related events if they do not want to. They are paid to fight fires and, I would imagine do a bloody good job. Let them carry on with their work, as they were employed to and leave them be. I think their bosses are suffering from a case of political correctness gone mad!Tuesday, 29 August 2006

Some said they couldn't attend as a matter of conscience or religion. If it was a parade of straight people, they would have gone.
