Blogs are here to stay (Hooray)

Chambers Dictionary has announced a list of 500 new words that it is adding. These include:
iPods, bingo wings, Brazilian wax, sudoku, munter, muffin top, Islamaphobe, Asbo, chav, happy-slapping and................weblogs (YAY!).
Also included are the words:
fundoplication
and
iraimbilanja
(I won't insult your intelligence by explaining these obvious words!!!! "huh").

If only it were true....

I'll say no more for fear of being assassinated myself! But Click HERE.

Chuffed to bits

Work was (is) pretty slow tonight, so I was checking out my ususal blogs to pass the time. A new one on my list of must-read-blogs is "The Morbid Adventures of Minge", and I was really chuffed to see that he had chosen my blog as the "Blog of the Day" yesterday. I actually blushed when I read it. It is good to hear that someone reads and likes my blog.
Thanks Minge, you made my day (that's not a sntence I ever saw myself saying!).

TV star in the making

I went into Soho this afternoon to get my comics, as usual on a Thursday, but I forgot that we had a bank holiday this week and so I can't get them until tomorrow. This was very annoying, because they had them delivered today, but "aren't allowed" to sell them until tomorrow!?!? Wierd!!
I got a sandwich from Benjies and sat in Soho Square reading this weeks issue of Boyz mag. While I was sat there I was approached by a woman and a camera crew asking questions about dating (not my best subject!) but I thought "what the hell!" I made some unremarkable comments, such as my ideal date being with Lawrence Dalaglio. I don't even know what the program was, so I can't tell you when or where (or even if) you can see me on the telly! Her microphone had a "ONE" symbol on it so it could be BBC1's new "The One Show", but I can't be sure. Let me know if you see me.

Off out tonight

Yep, it's my last night off for a few days, so I'm gonna make the most of it and go out for some drinks and look to find myself a BIG butch man to call my own.

Today

Well, once again I have wasted my day off. I have done nothing of note today, except get frustrated with my inability to get logged onto the 'net when I want (what I need is a boyf who knows loads about computers [like that is the first thing I would look for!!!] ).
I was going to go into town, just to hang out in Soho Square or something, but every time I began to get ready it would rain again, so I eventually gave up and spent the whole day on the computer.
I did go out last night, meeting Tim and Richard in Barcode, but the choice of talent was pretty sparse (try non-existant!!). Will probably go out again tomorrow to make up for it!!
Muscle

This poor man. He is sooo musclebound that he can't get off the floor. I'd definately give him a hand!!!!

Ridiculous

Nine Glasgow firefighters are to face the sack for refusing to man a stall at the local Pride festival. Ridiculous. Now as much as I love seeing men in uniform, they shouldn't be forced to attend non-fire related events if they do not want to. They are paid to fight fires and, I would imagine do a bloody good job. Let them carry on with their work, as they were employed to and leave them be. I think their bosses are suffering from a case of political correctness gone mad!

Nothing to report

Am off out to Soho in about half an hour, hopefully I'll get me some nice ARSE!!

Happy

My sisters came over to the pub to visit me yesterday and despite only getting 4 hours sleep I had a really good day. I thought that they would be arriving around midday / one o'clockish, so I set my alarm to get up at 11:30 (I was working the night shift before remember). At about 12:30 I phoned my sister, Lynn's house just to make sure that she had left. She was still in and said that she was intending to leave at around 3pm, as she knew I had been on night shift!! (I could have sworn that we had said to get here early afternoon!). So I just dossed around and tidied a bit while I waited for them.
At just after 3pm I happened to look out of the window and saw them all walking down from the tube station, so I went out to meet them. My eldest sister, Lynn, was there with her hubby Adrian, and 3 of her kids, Joe, Connor and Molly. My other sister, Maxine, was also there with her other half Lee. I was disappointed that Lynn's eldest, Arron wasn't there (but he is a teenager, so family things aren't really him at the moment), and that Maxine's daughter, Mikala wasn't there (but she had a party to get ready for tonight). I showed them around the flat and then around the pub cellar, and then we walked to my work and I signed them in and gave them a tour around the building. The loved it, the kids especially, so I'm glad I took them. After a McDonalds (which took 15 minutes to turn up, even after a 10 minute wait at the counter! Not so much "fast food" as "food."), we walked back to the pub via St Paul's Cathedral.
We then sat outside the pub and had a few drinks. Luckily it was a lovely day, as the kids aren't allowed in the pub. I introduced them to Kevin, my landlord and Lynn and Adrian had a good chat about New Zealand as they went there for Christmas and that is where Kevin is from.
Kevin said we could come into the pub and sit at the long table at the back when it began to get a bit colder outside, which was really nice of him. All too soon it was time for them to leave, to get back to Essex on the train, so I walked them back to the tube (I don't think I wanted them to go). I said goodbye outside the station and felt quite tearful (happy tearful that is) when they had gone, which is very unlike me. I had realy enjoyed seeing them, it was nice that they had visited me for a change too, only the second time Lynn and her family have and the first time for Maxine since I moved away from Essex nearly 10 years ago!!
Lynn had started me off, when she was saying goodbye, by saying that this was the happiest that she had seen me, which made me feel good. I am so gald that they came to visit and I can't wait for the next time (I have promised to take the kids to London Zoo and to the Natural History Museum!!).

R.I.P. Wendell

Wendell Vaughn (aka Quasar) has been killed in the Annihilation saga currently waging war in Marvel at the moment. Annihilation, or the forgotten war, as I like to call it (as it is being overshadowed by a tiny thing called The Civil War on Earth at the moment). I am loving Annihilation as it is involving some of the greatest cosmic characters ever (i.e. Firelord, Galactus, Super-Skrull, Gladiator and the Imperial Guard), but one bad thing has come out of it.... Quasar has died, killed by Annihilus and stripped of his Quantum Bands.
I have stated before that Quasar is one of my fave characters. He is, sorry was, a hero with incredibly vast power granted by his Quantum Bands, who had only recently begun to grasp the full level of his powers. But he was still, basically, a naive young American boy-next-door type of guy with all the usual hopes, fears, needs and doubts of a normal young guy, feeling inadequate beside less powerful heroes such as Captain America (but then again, most heroes feel that way next to Cap).

I missed the issue of his death, which is the reason for this late obituary, but hope to acquire a copy soon.
I am going to miss Quasar, I loved his series back in the 90's and the variety of characters that he interacted with therein. Hopefully his death will only be temporary (bearing in mind that he was previously stated to be an emissary of Infinity! And he was partnered with Eon and Epoch). But if he remains deceased, then I hope when the next wearer of the Quantum Bands emerges (we all know that there will be one if he is dead) then that person lives up to the ideal and image of the true hero that Wendell was.

Quasar, you will be missed.

Funny Bunnies

Found this site tonight, funny stuff, Mr Gisby's Totally Gay Pet Shop.

Here's a taster....

Remembering 9/11

Checking out my usual blogs I came across this. 2996 is a site designed as a tribute to the victims of 9/11. The aim is to get 2996 blogs to each "sponsor" a victim, and pay tribute to the victim that they are assigned. I think this a wonderful idea, as this year will make the 5th anniversary of the day that changed the world. Please check out the site and if you have a blog, sponsor a victim, pay tribute to all those who died on that day. Check out the details here.

I have registered for mine and will be paying my respects to Michael John Cahill on the day.

Becks got milk?

David Beckham would have more than a white upper lip if I got hold of him!

Despite being a bit slimmer than my normal fantasy he is still sexy.

I love meeces to peeces

I was called to the first floor in my building tonight, by a member of staff, as he'd seen a mouse. I went up there to see 2 members of staff, cowering about 10 feet from the poor little lost mousie. I picked it up and put it in a cup and took it down to the ground floor. The poor thing. I wanted to keep it as our control room pet, but My colleague Andy wouldn't let me. He didn't actually say as much, but the girly scream and the fact that he was hiding behind the console gave me a hint that he wouldn't be thrilled!!
I had no choice but to set the poor thing free..................in the compactor!!

UK:
London: Comptons of Soho
was evacuated on Thursday 17th after staff and patrons spontaneously broke into violent coughing fits. 10 customers had difficulty breathing afterwards, but none were taken to hospital. The pub opened again after 2 ½ hours. No cause or clear account of what happened has been found as yet.
Source: metro.co.uk

My take:
Hopefully it was a freak event and not an attack, just someone having a REALLY nasty dump in the toilets maybe? But I will certainly be on the look out in town, more than usual.

South Tyneside: A local paper won the right to name a homophobic bully who led an assault on a gay 15-year-old boy. 16-year-old Danny Murphy of Jarrow led a gang of six teenagers who set upon the 15-year-old as he walked along the A19 in Jarrow on May 9th.
Source: pinknews.co.uk

My take:
People like this, whether it is a homophobic, racist or any other type of attack, should always be named and then they can see what it is like to be a target in the community. I don’t normally condone straight-bashing, but…………

USA:

I still love the big arms

Ben Thatcher you are a C**T

All day, Sky News have been showing the "tackle" by Ben Thatcher on Pedro Mendes in last night's football match between Manchester City and Portsmouth. Thatcher is just out-of-order. He runs into the guy at full speed and smacks him in the face with his forearm, then just walks off with the guy left laying dazed on the floor. He doesn't even look back. When one of the Portsmouth players tells him to look at what he has done, he tells him where to go. Even when the ref shows him a yellow card (which should have been a red!) he tells the ref to F**k off! The guy just doesn't care.
Pedro Mendes was left laying on the floor staring into space, after being sent sliding along the floor and into advertising hordings. He had to be given oxygen on the pitch and had seizures apparently before being carried off and spending the night in hospital.
I was pleased to hear that the FA and the Greater Manchester Police are looking at alterring the rules to make a prosecution against him. Personally, I would just ban the guy from the pitch! Permanently! Affect his bank balance, that seems to be the only thing that affects these guys. Get him off the screens, where kids cannot be influenced by his violent behaviour. I would have enterred a video of the.... attack is the best word... but it isn't on there yet.

The Gaily News

UK:
Devonshire:
A single complaint from a visitor to a Devonshire library has caused one of the UK’s most successful HIV awareness campaigns to be banned. An advert showing a couple holding a sign saying “We’d rather fuck than watch T.V.” It puts an upcoming campaign in jeopardy as this talks about oral sex, blow jobs and fucking. The GMFA are wondering how they are meant to promote safe sex without using these words. Matthew Hodson, from GMFA said he was “shocked at the ruling.” He added “I’d say we’re buggered – but I’m not sure I’m allowed to.
Source: pinkpaper.com

My take:
At least GMFA have a sense of humour about this. I think the person who made the complaint needs to think long and hard about what they have done. Deaths are on your hands because of your prudishness whoever you are!!

USA: Young gay college students were turned down when they attempted to enlist at military recruitment centres in Austin, Chicago, & Oklahoma City. This comes as recruitment drives have fallen short monthly for more than a year. “President” Bush ordered thousands of Marine Corps troops back to active duty in the first involuntary recall since the early days of the Iraq war, even though the number of troops being thrown out of the military continues to grow.
Last week 11 sit-in protestors were arrested at a Philadelphia recruiting centre.
Source: 365day.com

My take:
As has been said many times before: We are “allowed to fuck a man but not fight for him,” which is ridiculous. It proves, to me at least, that people like Bush are preventing us from becoming the “acceptable” people that THEY want us to be! They say that we are against god, but aside from sex, we are the same, but just aren’t being allowed to BE the same. I would imagine that patriotic Americans are frustrated that they cannot fight for their country and are being made to feel less American for it. It just doesn’t make sense at all, but that is about normal for the Bush administration.

New York: The venue where it all began, the Stonewall Inn, is to close. Greenwich Village has undergone a slow transformation from dive to desirable, but there is no place for the old Stonewall Inn. The rent of $20000 a month makes it unlikely that the new owners will run it as a bar.
Source: pinkpaper.co.uk

My take: Although I’ve never been there, it seems to me that Stonewall Inn should be preserved. It has a major place in modern gay history. It is the start of “us” becoming a more public and ultimately more accepted part of society who are willing to stick up for our own rights. I would love a gay consortium to buy the property and use it for projects to aid the local community, fund raising and public events. As a symbolic starting place it should, maybe, also be a starting place for other events which aid the gay community and the worldwide community as a result. How about converting it into a chapel for gay marriages, if they ever become legal in the state of New York? Or at least a place for partnership blessings to take place?

Birthday greetings.

Today there are a few birthdays to mention:
Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films) is 18 today;
Chad Michael Murray (American actor and model) is 23;
Jennifer Lien (Kes from Star Trek: Voyager) is 32;
Steve Guttenberg (Police Academy and 3 Men and Baby actor) is 48 (48!!! I used to REALLY fancy him, especially after the scene in Police Academy with him just in a towell).
Stephen Fry (who I have never, EVER fancied but admire for his dry wit and intelligence) is 49;
Jean-Michel Jarre (musician / composer) is 58;
Kenny Baker (R2-D2 [& Paploo the Ewok] from Star Wars) is 72 today. WOW!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALL

In production from Marvel...

After checking Marvel.com for the first time in a while I have seen that there are quite a lot of projects being developed (movie, tv and DVD-wise).

Movies in production are:
Ghost Rider, Spider-Man 3 and Fantastic Four 2: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
Am excited about the FF movie, and I'm wondering if Galactus will turn up in this movie or if he will be in the third one. Whichever I think it will be great, especially as the original four are still in the films.

Movies in developement are:
Deathlok (not a new idea, but could be great); Gargoyle (ditto); Magneto (prequal?); Namor; Punisher 2 (same star?); & Wolverine (prequal, I think);

Self-Financed films are:
Iron Man (could be good if Tom Cruise ISN'T the star); Incredible Hulk (couldn't be worse than the previous one); Ant-Man (the less said, the better); Captain America (not sure); Nick Fury (anything other than David Hasslehoff will improve this from the original film); Thor (could be fantastic); The Avengers (About F*****G time!!!);

We also have Direct-to-DVD animations to look forward to:
Ultimate Avengers 2; Iron Man; Dr Strange (sounds fantastic); & Teen Avengers;

And even some TV series':
Fantastic Four; Wolverine and the X-Men; Iron Man; & Spider-Man (I initially, and stupidly, thought these were live action, but they turn out to be animation)

The Gaily News

Croatia:
Hvar Island:
Tourists were startled by naked men in a main square and striptease in the streets during “gay week”. Around 50 gay men arrived in Hvar to celebrate but they were condemned by local organisers and tourist agencies.
Source: UPI.com

My take:
If it was organised let ‘em ’ave their fun. Startled tourists make for publicity and, as the saying goes, “there’s no such thing as bad publicity!”

New Zealand: Human Rights Law Protects Transsexuals. A new act came after Labor MP Georgina Beyer, herself a transsexual, requested an amendment to include transsexuals. The amendment will also further cover gay and lesbian people.
Source: 365gay.com

My take:
I saw a documentary on Georgina Beyer last year, which I found really interesting. She is quite a lady and very inspirational. She was the first transsexual MP in the world.

UK:
Manchester:
A 39-year-old man had died of his injuries, 3 years after a savage beating by homophobic attackers in Manchester’s Gay Village. Marketing executive Martin Salinas’s family are appealing for his killer(s) to be caught.
Source: pinkpaper.com

My take:
I used to be impressed by Manchester’s Gay Village, and the idea of the Village, as it setting a great example of how the rest of the country should be. It seemed to be a source of pride in Manchester, not just within the gay community. But I’d heard that it was becoming more of a straight locale, with tons of hen parties, which isn’t what the area is for. Looks like it isn’t the haven I thought it was initially. Having never been there, I can only go on what I read and hear though.

Wireless (or not)

OK. Yesterday my landlord promised me that the wireless connection for the pub would be in place today. I am at work at the moment and so don't know if it has, but I'm not going to hold my breath, as BT have messed him around before. I shall find out for certain when I get home in about an hour.
I am looking forward to my weekend off as my sister is coming over to the pub with the kids, possibly with my other sister and her daughter too. Should be good. We are planning to have lunch at the pub and then I was gonna show them where I work. It will be really nice to see them, and nice to have them come to me for a change too (I normally only se them when I go home for Christmas). They are coming over in the early afternoon, I don't know how long they are staying but if they leave early, I can always go out afterwards. Then I still have 4 days off, so if I don't go out I can go out on the Monday (cheap drinks). Sounds good to me.

Australia:
Sydney:

Source: Pinknews.co.uk

My take:
It’s about time more high-profile Friends of Dorothy came out and proved to kids that gay isn’t a bad thing, and you can still be successful and happy.

UK:
Gloucestershire:
Gloucester held its first Gay Pride March on August 12th, held in memory of Jody Dobrowski, who was murdered last year in London. Hundreds turned out for the event which was said to have gone without a hitch.
Source: Pinknews.co.uk

My take:
Nice to see more and more towns are having their own Gay Pride parades.

USA: Only 1.3% of lead or supporting characters on the six main broadcast networks in the new season are either gay, lesbian or bisexual, according to the annual study by GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), a drop from 1.4% last year. This means that only 9 characters represent the gay community on these networks!
Source: Calendarlive.com
My take: It is a shame that television cannot express reality a bit closer (and I DO NOT MEAN REALITY TV, there is far too much of that as it is!).

New York: A 28 year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed and beaten by a group of lesbians. The man attempted to sell counterfeit DVD’s to a lone woman and then told her she was pretty. When the woman rejected his advances he allegedly spat on her and threw a cigarette at her. The woman is said to have produced a large steak knife and stabbed him in the stomach. A group of six women appeared and the man was kicked, punched and beaten with a belt. The group were arrested a short distance from the scene.
Source Pinknews.co.uk
My take: I’ve always said it, “Don’t mess with the lesbians!” Defending yourself is one thing, but carrying a steak knife is a bit too much girls!!

Today's gaily news...

Australia: The Australian blood service pleaded for people to donate yesterday, saying that it had only 36 hours worth of supplies left. Unfortunately they are still not accepting blood from gay donors, saying that it “isn’t safe enough”. At present only Italy and Spain accept blood from sexually active gay men, with challenges to exclusion policies proceeding in South Africa, the UK and the US.

Rules for silly people....

A work colleague of mine sent me a link to site which outlines what can, and cannot be taken onto flights with the current flight restrictions. Some of these things are fair enough, some shouldn't have to be stated, and some are just pointless.

Here are a few examples:

You CAN take:
Knitting needles (quite lethal if you ask me!)
Cuticle cutters
Cigar cutters (even though you can't smoke)
Corkscrews (even though you can't take your own drinks)
Toy weapons (do most people know the difference?)
Nitroglycerine pills and sprays (the word nitroglycerine makes me kind of nervous)
Transformer toys (why would there be any doubt, and why specify these toys, were they previously expecting assault with a deadly VW Beetle!)

You CAN'T take:
Meat cleavers, axes and hatchets (I always use them on a flight)
Firearms (D'uh!!)
Cattle prods (always handy for speeding the trolley cows up!)
Throwing stars, brass knuckles, night sticks, billy clubs, and other martial arts weapons (that's Jackie Chan stuck in the US for the foreseeable future!)
Mace / Pepper spray (useful for reducing the queue to the on-plane toilets!)
Tear Gas (Tear gas!! Can you actually purchase this?)
Chlorine for pools and spas (very useful for those long flights!)
Whipping cream (So no kinky stuff when you join the mile high club!)

And the most worrying thing, for some, is that you cannot fly if you have a tool larger than 7" (I'd love to have the job inspecting for that!!)

I wonder if Aiden Shaw would do the same here

I saw this story about a Jewish gay porn star who is going to perform a free live sex show for the troops in Tel Aviv, Israel. Fantastic. I would love to see how many would turn up if they did that in London. Am almost tempted to pop over to Tel Aviv in a military uniform. Almost.

Birthday Greetings to 2 divas

It is the 50th birthday of Kim Cattral today, can you believe it. For those of you who've been off planet for the last 30 years she is the star of Sex In The City (sorry SJP, but she was!), Mannequin, Star Trek IV, and the Porkies films (among many many others). She is fantastic, unfortunately the last thing that I saw her in was that aweful tea advert!!!
Happy birthday Kim.

The other diva, whose birthday it is the gay / straight / bisexual porn star Jeff Stryker (not techniqually a diva but hey), he is 48 today (and allegedly only 7" according to the site I was reading, maybe that was soft).
Happy birthday Jeff.

Not well......

I just couldn't get to sleep last night as my stomach was feeling bloated and something just didn't feel right. I decided to go tot the toilet at about 02:00 this morning and I'm glad I did. As I got threre I threw up three times, obviously something I ate didn't agree with me. But I felt like crap after that and couldn't get comfortable in bed, so I didn't manage to sleep for more than about 20 minutes at a time. I have only just got out of bed as it is, god knows how I'm gonna sleep tonight!! AND I have work in the morning. Oh well, can't be helped I guess.
So am gonna try and get everything sorted on the new laptop today if I can. Have started transferring across my saved pictures from the old one (I didn't realise just how many I had!!).
It's been a bit of a pain as I have to rely on other people's wireless connection at the moment as my landlord has yet to sort out ours (was meant to be in by 14th August!), but it's only normally weekends and late nights that I can't get on at the moment. THe first time I did manage to get logged on wirelessly I had 100 emails to go through, which took the whole bloody day to wade through. Am all caught up now though. Just hope that work isn't too bad tomorrow and I can get SOME sleep tonight!!

What a shitty night

I'm not in the best of moods tonight. I am tired, I've got old contact lenses in because my new ones never turned up after being sent to my old address, I spent 2 hours tyring to get my new laptop set up for wireless internet use without success, I got an unsolicited letter from the T&G WU union (of which I am not a member and do not know how they got my address!), and then I came into work and had to put up with two guys who love the sound of their own voices.
So, I am just trying to keep to myself and biding my time until it is time to go home. I'm nearly halfway through, so it seems to be working so far.
At least I can get comics when I get up this afternoon. And I may even go out for a good few drinks tonight. Now that sounds like a good idea. I'm off until Monday morning so I may even go out on Saturday too!

I keep saying it, but some people have too much money!

I have seen that there is a cocktail for sale, in a Dublin bar, called "Minted" which costs £338!!! It contains vanilla-infused vodka, 200 year old congnac and flakes of 23-carat gold!
This is a drink that joins a growing league of extravagant global cocktails, some of which even have diamond rings dropped in them for thoise really wanting to splash out.
Some people are blessed with far too much money and not enough sense to know where to put the tissue when they blow their nose!
Pussy Got Your Tongue

I know I have blogged this before, but I really love this song. I really, REALLY, want someone to do a dance-type remix and I believe this would be No1!! If you like it then pass it on, maybe someone who does remixes will hear it and make my dream come true!!

Uganda: The International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission have condemned the decision by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to ban same-sex marriage. My new screensaver at work

It is quite arty and quite horny at the same time.

New toys

OK. So I've all but given up on my old laptop, with its odd noises and its broken bits, and also on my landlord sorting out a phoneline at home.
I purchased a brand new laptop, with wireless internet capability, a free carrycase and a free printer. It is sitting at home all ready for me to play with when I get home from work (or at least when I wake up after my long sleep that I an looking forward to!) So, once I have set up the laptop I should be able to get back to blogging from home as well as from work.

I also have last weeks comics finally! All of this was purchased before I came in to work last night, so I am all shopped out. Can you tell it was payday?

How to piss off your work force!

I got a recorded delivery notification the other day and so went to sign for it today before I came to work. I hadn't been to the Post Office depot for my new address and so had to search a bit to find it. I had a walk of almost a mile to get there. I opened the letter when I had signed for it and found that it was a letter from my employers telling me that I hadn't scored high enough on my 6 monthly appraisal to get a bonus.
So, I had wasted part of my morning off to find out something that I had been told on my appraisal anyway. My performance is merely satisfactory.
Now, going by what a colleague has told me, if I had been trained in, say, the dock office then I could have boosted my score. Despite the fact that my colleague had been trained over 2 years ago and not worked in the dock for at least 18 months he still gained points for this!
I was not expecting to get a bonus, even before my appraisal, as I knew what they base the bonuses on (who sucks up most, well partially anyway!). But to have to go out of my way to be reminded that I wasn't geting one was just typical for them. It seems that they revel in going out of their way to piss off their employees. The sooner they loose the contract the better, if you ask me.

George! George! I think you missed a bit!!

Poor Boy George. Not only was he prosecuted for falsly reporting a burglary at his home in Little Italy, New York. But now he has to sweep up a car park, as part of his commuity service, with the world's media watching his every move. Bless. And what is more, if the BBC is anything to go by, they are expecting him to dress up in his usual flamboyant gear to do it.
What with him and George Michael's latest antics, are there any 80's pop stars who are providing good examples to the world's youngsters?
OK Go - Here It Goes Again

This looks great fun. And all done in one take too. Fantastic.

No work to do?

I have absolutely no work to do today and so have been on my (swiftly delapidating) laptop all day at work. Apart from when I was watching "Charmed" earlier. I haven't seen it for a while and had forgotten just how cute Jason Lewis (formerly of Sex in the City) is.
Alyssa Milano sure has a difficult job, always having to pretend to fancy the gorgeous men she always seems to have on the show. I wonder how she does it? How does she manage to get the hottest guys in the show?

Oh yes!
She directs it!!
Lucky bitch.
Pole Vault

This is just PAINFUL to watch!!

Matt Shirvington

matt shirvington shirtless muscle run

What an amazing body, really lovely. Thanks to Tottyland for the video.

Goodbye to my first friend on Blogger

Fresh'n'Tasty is gone. One of my fave sites and a featured one too. Donnie was the first person, that I am aware of to link to my blog and I was soooooo happy when he did. It's a shame he isn't going to blog anymore, but, Donnie, if you are reading this, I look forward to reading your comments.

Al-Qaeda comes to Smurfland!

Fantastic Food!

It is not very often that I eat out, but on Tuesday my mate Lee phoned to say he would be free for lunch, so I met him in Soho and we went to Balans Cafe (formerly Comptons cafe). It was a lovely day, the sun was out and there were plenty of seats free and no smokers that I noticed. We both had the Thai Noodles with spicy chicken strips. It was really, really nice. I was very impressed, I was almost tempted to ask for a second plate! The service was great too. As it was fairly quiet there was only one waitor but he was dealing with 9 tables by himself and was still happy, chatty and informative about the menu. I would highly recommend the place as somewhere you must check out when in town.
Lee also tells me that the larger Balans is good too, and that is from someone who used to refuse to go there after a bad meal previously. And Balans near Earl's Court is also nice, though the last time I was there was about 3 years ago.
UNDERDAKS GAY

Wish I had one of these machines at work (and the remote!!)

Comic Day yesterday

Thursday is comic day and I just couldn't get to a shop! I will have to wait until Monday to get mine! Not good, eh?

It's about time!!

It has been announced that John Terry is the new captain of the England Football Team. I've been saying for ages that it should be him, and many of my work colleagues agree with me (especially the Chelsea supporters).

I'm Back

Well! I have wireless internet ALMOST sorted! I have the technology! It just doesn't work. Basically, my laptop is F****D. So I am going to buy a new one on payday (Tuesday) and so then I will be back full time (I am working nearly every day until then anyway, so I should be able to blog until then anyway.
Saying that, this is the first break I have had since I started at 07:00, due to the terror plot foiled this morning we have been exceptionally busy. It makes the day go quickly so I can't complain at all.
AND, as seen in my last blog, we got a thank you from senior management for our work on my last shift. And again for today's work, too, which is nice (in that it is unusual to get praise at all!).

Busy night.

I've had quite a busy night at work, which was surprising really considering we were meant to be on a power down at work!! But it made the night go quickly, which is good. I am now off for 4 days and so I am looking forward to perusing the talent in town tonight after a good nights sleep.

I still have no email at home, and probably won't until the 14th I've been told, but I will endeavour to get my wireless access sorted before then. So hopefully I will be speaking to you all soon. If not 4 days isn't a long time. But, to tide you over.......

Brighton

I have decided NOT to go to Brighton Pride this year. The last 2 years have been good there, and the weather looks like it will be good again, but I don't know anyone else who is going so it wouldn't be that much fun going all that way on my own. Am gonna go out in London instead. Have a night out on the pull, I haven't done that for a while.
Tonight, I am at work and we have a power-down which means that most systems are going to be turned off. The TV went at 18:45, not a good start. I still have the pc at the moment, but am expecting that to go after 22:00! I have my laptop which has 1 hour of battery, after that I will have to rely on comics for my entertainment! Oh well, only 10 hours to go!!!

Happy Birthday Marcus

Just found out that today is the birthday of the world's first acknowledged MALE supermodel, Marcus Schenkenberg. Happy birthday Marcus, you've got to be one of the world's most beautiful men. Have a great day Marcus.

Not enough flesh?

I have been told that there isn't enough man-stuff on the blog any more, so I guess I am just gonna have to make up for that somehow.................

Death Clock

Bit morbid but just my thing.
A friend at work sent me this - the Death Clock - which works out when you are going to die!! But, BEWARE, sometimes it tells you that you have already expired!! That can be a bit worrying I imagine.
Luckily, I am gonna be around until 2nd March 2024! But I don't think I will make any plans based on this information!!
