Although I am slightly embarrassed to admit it, I will say that I have no interest in watching women playing rugby. Sorry ladies, but the whole reason I got into watching the men play is because of how they looked. I now like the game too, but still only watch international (men's) matches as I do not have a specific league team that I support (Guinness Premiership or otherwise). Nor am I off at the weekends often enough to follow a season properly.
I do have to say though that there is a distinct lack of coverage of the women in rugby, so much so that I didn't even know that there was a women's Six Nations competition running at the same time as the men's. England's women are currently leading the competition after winning both of their matches so far, let's hope they keep up the winning streak.
I was wondering too, on the back of recently having to correct myself when I incorrectly stated that there were no gay athletes in this year's Winter Olympics, are there any lesbians in the Six Nations. We all "know" that there are no OUT gay men in the men's competition, if there were we would have heard after Gareth Thomas's recent emergence, but are there any women in the competition to represent the LGBT community? Or is being a butch, big-built, tough woman too much of a stereotype?
