I said that I would be keeping an eye on the (very few) out gay Olympians at these Winter Games to see if they performed as well as their counterparts in the Summer Olympics 2 years ago. Well, Ireen Wust of the Netherlands has started the ball rolling with her Gold medal in the women's 1500m speed skating yesterday. Let's hope that this will spur the other girls on to do as great things in the rest of the competition (and that the boys can learn something from the girls too!).
