Feeling Better?

I woke up this morning and felt worse than I did yesterday, but then again I think it may just be a "first-thing-in-the-morning" thing. My throat was choked with a whole night-ful of phlegm and coughing it up made my already sore throat feel very tender, and my headache ten-times worse. After taking some paracetamol, having breakfast and plenty of fluid I began to feel better, but still had no intention of going to the gym today, as I was still feeling bad.
I had a beautiful bacon, cheese and mushroom sandwich for lunch and after that I felt a whole lot better. I decided to go to the gym after all.
I was surprised, given that I still couldn't breathe very well through my nose, that while on my first run of my usual rotation, I managed to get my best time. I normally run 1km just after doing my initial stretches and have only managed to do this in under 5 minutes on one previous occasion, and that time it was only by 1 second. Today I managed to complete it in 4 minutes 55 seconds, and that was with a 15 second delay in getting the treadmill up to full speed. I was shocked by very happy. My aim with my running is to get under 5 minutes for a mile, which is approximately 1.62km. Given that I can't even run that far at the moment, my target is a long way off, but I hope to get to it within a year, preferably by Christmas.
I barely managed a few minutes in the steam room and sauna again today, because of my difficulty in breathing.
For the rest of today I have done nothing else except watch the dramatic, but mistake-prone Wales v France Six Nations match. Very exciting.

Tomorrow I will go to the gym earlier than normal. Being a weekend it will not be packed so the time doesn't matter. I then aim to have a late lunch before heading into town to watch the England match in Comptons again at 16:00. I am not sure how long after the match has finished that I will stay out, I'll just see how things develop. I doubt that I will be aiming to get off with anyone, as I doubt that my blocked nose will have cleared by then, and it is not exactly a pulling point!
