Grossed Out

****DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE EASILY GROSSED OUT****

Today, the first of my 12 days off, I got up at about 09:30 drenched in sweat. I had finally managed to sweat out most of the virus (or whatever) I had caught. It must have been a 48-hour virus with a slow watch!! I got up and dithered around doing various jobs before eventually heading to the shower.
After showering I had to blow my nose as I was blocked up, a side effect of being dehydrated I think.
**Here is the gross bit so don't say I didn't warn you**

When I blew my nose a large amount emerged onto my tissue, which is usually quite satisfying in a curiously sick way. But, when I looked (to check for blood etc) I was immediately shocked by what it looked like.
It was a semi-solid pale green mass, curled up with a string of red running along its "spine" making it look like a sort of alien prawn covered in slime. I immediately thought that I had ejected an alien parasite, but then realised that I wasn't reading a comic or watching television and so rationalised what I saw:
Congealed snot, with some blood and some not-so-congealed snot covering it. The image I first saw though is going to stay with me for a while!! I wanted to show someone, but the only flatmate that I knew was in was Jesse and I'm sure she wouldn't have appreciated it!
I really wish I had taken a photo of it though. I keep forgetting that I can take pictures with my phone now!!
**Gross out bit ended**

I still feel a bit rough, but hopefully by tomorrow I'll be feeling much better. It's not like I would be doing much today anyway as the weather is not really good (overcast, windy and some rain too).

You really should have taken a picture. I'm a gross-aholic. One of four boys (and a tom-boy sister), so anything foul and/or inappropriate is much appreciated.

btw: I love blowing my nose and having something of odd thick color come out--it makes me feel as if I've achieved something. When I blow and it's clear and light, I wonder why I blew at all. (Insanity runs in my family, in case you missed it).

Just discovered your blog. I'm enjoying it.

Best,
-RL
