Frustration

Sorry for the lack of any entries yesterday, but I've been doing absolutely nothing of interest lately. I've just been vegging around the flat waiting to hear if have been selected to go through to a second interview. I should have heard by today (5 working days, as stated in the letter from the company telling me about the initial assessment day), even though the guy who did my interview told me I would hear on Monday.
This morning I decided to chase them up and so I phoned the woman who had done my initial phone vetting. She wasn't answering ans do I left a message on her voicemail. I patiently waited until early afternoon and hadn't heard a thing, so I phoned the companies' main number. It turns out that the woman I left a message for isn;t even in today, so I spoke to another woman and she agreed that I should have heard something by now (yeah, thanks, very helpful love!). She said she would chase it up for me. But, once again, I am left hanging, not knowing what my fate is. I will be very disappointed if I haven't been sucessful, but will cross that bridge if I get to it.
Bob phoned me this afternoon, to say that he had got to the same stage that I am at after attending an assessment day today himself. His brief interview was with a different guy who asked if I (as Bob's mate) had heard anything yet. When Bob said that I hadn't as far as he knew, the guy said he would chase it also. So, either way I should hear tomorrow, though I am not going to hold my breath.
I have had one success today though. I have finally managed to get some recycling bags for the flat! I tried to get some initially when I first moved in, but no one seemed to want to help. I eventually gave up, but someone came to the door the other day to advise of new food scrap recycling boxes that were due to be delivered, so I had a word to her and this afternoon the box and three rolls of recycling bags were left outside the front door. Now all I have to do is educate my flatmates. Not an easy task, as Kevin saw the recycling bag and put it in the bin straight away with all the other rubbish!
