Today's Hero Of The Day

Simon Hawkins is today's hero of the day. He was a firefighter from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, UK, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. Simon's wife Annie informed him about a fire fighter in the USA, Bill Henry (another hero I think), who had returned to work after receiving an artificial limb and Simon travelled to meet him.
Family and friends of Simon aided him in raising £20,000 to pay for a specialised artificial leg for him, which was fireproof and was made by the same firm that provides artificial limbs for Heather Mills-MacCartney. He has since returned to work after regaining his fitness level and proving he could perform all the tasks he could previously. He even got to appear on "Richard & Judy!"
