I just wanted to say that I have just been looking out of my bedroom window, as I do sometimes when I am bored or in a thoughtful mood, and I noticed that the halo effect, that I have been experiencing when looking at artificial lights at night, is not as bad as it was last week. It is a definite notable improvement, which I am really, really pleased about.
One of the procedures that I had (and paid extra for), when I had my laser correction at Optimax, was to prevent this halo effect, especially for night driving. So I was incredibly disappointed, and slightly annoyed, when I first noticed it the night after I'd had the procedure done. I was reassured by the Optimax optician that it would get better, but told that it could take over a month, but I didn't necessarily believe her (why should I, surely she would say that anyway?).
I was really pleased when I just noticed that my eyes are getting slightly closer to normal again, so I had to tell you all immediately.
Isn't it nice to have me ending on a positive note for a change? Don't expect it again any time soon!! ;-)

My doctor told me that cataracts caused the "halo" during night driving. The light from oncoming headlights gets scattered on the cornea causing the halo.
