Last night was the first night, since I had the procedure done on my eyes that I was allowed to sleep without the plastic eye-shields that I had been forced to have taped to my face on previous nights. I was pretty sick of them as, any time that I got an itch, I would have to peel them off to scratch it and they sometimes came off in the middle of the night anyway (as I normally sleep on my side or stomach!).
So as I got into bed last night I felt relieved that I didn't have to wear them. Then, as I was fidgeting to get comfortable what did I go and do? I poked my finger in my eye somehow!! How typical is that. Luckily there was no harm done and it did actually make me laugh at the irony of it.
I can't wait for my next day off though as my eyes are really tired all the time and it would be nice just to get a nice long sleep and feel refreshed in the morning rather than be rudely awakened by the alarm at 06:00 every morning. Here's hoping that the next 2 days go very quickly indeed!
