Strictly Goodbye To Rav! :- (

I managed to get home from work almost in time to see the whole of Strictly tonight. I got in as the dancers were being introduced and coming down the stairs, but as I quickly changed and dumped my work stuff in my room I managed to miss almost all of Ali & Brian's dance, though what I did see was good.
The whole night seemed to be prone to mistakes, nerves and accidents for the celebrities:
Chris seemed to be making mistakes and it turned out that he had performed a different routine to the one they had practiced.
Rav was out of time with his dance partner and the music, though he did look sexy (as always), this time in a suit and tails, with white bow tie and shirt.
Craig made quite a few mistakes due to his nerves.
Laila got a bit lost in the middle of her routine.
Jo's dress got caught on her heel, which was a shame as she had been looking very strong up until that point, but then lost her focus and went downhill from then, with Brendan apparently tripping her at the end of the dance (though I think he may just have taken the blame for her).
Phil made a mistake right near the end of his dance, though I missed it whatever it was.
The best dance of the night, that I saw, was Ricky Whittle who performed the best celebrity Paso that I have ever seen. He was incredibly macho, despite his costume (black, high-waisted, with a corset-like, drawstring fastening at the navel beginning a "V" up to his shoulders, showing his chest, with ruffles up the sides!). The Paso is one of my least favourite dances, but this was great. I suppose that it did help that he is gorgeous.
Joe Calzaghe's dance was much better than his previous efforts, but was still bad, with him hardly dancing at all and having the worst costume (basically he was wearing a sleeveless t-shirt and a boxing-type belt!). On dancing alone, he definitely deserved to leave, but was saved by the public AGAIN.
Ricky Groves' dance, another Paso, was great fun, though not technically brilliant, it was certainly entertaining, which is always good for the show. Once again, Erin looked stunning (I think I might be developing a straight-crush thing on her!).

The best part of the show, as always is the demonstration dance by the professionals. Today it was a Foxtrot, heralding the celebrities attempts next week. It was beautiful.
The alternate dance next week will be a Salsa, and the demonstration was done today by Richard Marcel and his dancers. I thought it looked crap. They looked drab in their outfits and the music wasn't good, with the dancing being very average, though with some particularly difficult lifts. I was NOT impressed at all.

Then, to make things worse, Andy Williams, the "living legend" came on and murdered "Moon River," a song which I love. He was awful, sounding like he was singing though a stroke. I do appreciate performers being allowed to continue when they are older, but they still have to deliver the goods, and he just didn't.

The dance off tonight was between Lynda & Darren and Rav & Aliona. Lynda gave it her all in her dance and, unfortunately, Rav made a mistake at the start and then gave up, I couldn't watch it all! He was voted off. Such a shame as I would love to see more of him. Literally!
