The Waters of Mars

****possible spoilers****

I've just watched the latest Dr Who special, The Waters of Mars, and I must say I wasn't too impressed.
The performances were good, I have no quarrel with that. The "monsters" looked great, especially with the water pouring out of their mouths, but the blasts of water from the hands were pathetic, and the running was crap. All this year, the Doctor Who episodes have been known as "specials." So far, they have been anything but. I just hope that David Tennant gets the spectacular send off that he deserves for the brilliant job he has done over the last 4 years. The next two episodes, which I believe are due on Christmas Day and New Years Day, need to be spectacular ones. I am already slightly disappointed that it will be John Simm as the Master AGAIN, but hopefully it will be good anyway.
I am going to watch The Waters of Mars again on iPlayer tomorrow, in case I missed the point. But for the moment it just felt like a drawn-out trailer for the story to come in the final two episodes for the tenth Doctor.

thanks for the review. I haven't seen this one yet on BBC America here in the States.

Me neither. It was all the hype about how scary. It was OK. But I'm looking forward to Xmas.

BTW we love Beautiful People. There's stuff about Who and BP scattered across my blog...
