Made It

Well, I managed to survive my four day shifts despite feeling like crap for most of them. I began feeling unwell last Sunday, and then spent almost all of Monday in bed. I was back to work on Tuesday and expected to call in sick, but surprisingly felt fine when I woke up. I gradually deteriorated throughout the day and went to bed not long after returning home that night. I woke up on Wednesday morning at around 04:00 and felt like Hell! I took a while to make my mind up, but decided to call in sick. As I got out of bed to find the head office number I felt better. I went back to bed, thinking I could sleep the rest of it off in 2 hours, but laying down was what was making me feel worse. So, I decided that I had to go to work.
On Thursday morning I was woken by my alarm and made it to work in a daze, feeling dizzy and a bit disorientated. I made it through the day. And today, began the same, though not quite as bad (dizzywise), and I soon forgot about it as I had a fire evacuation practice to take my mind off of things for a couple of hours. It was still a long day (long four days).
Now I am off for 4 days and then unfortunately back to work on nights from Wednesday. I won't be going out this weekend, because I still feel ill, and I can't really go and visit Tim (as I had hoped, and had wanted to do on the Monday just gone too), as I don't want to give him my virus, especially considering that he has an operation coming up in less than a month. I don't want to make him feel worse than he already does, or jeopardise his chances of having this op over and done with as soon as possible.
So, it looks like it will be 4 days all alone. That will make a change! I'm going to bed now.
