Why does everything have to be difficult nowadays? I went to Argos today and finally bought myself a new television (after ripping the aerial out of my old one back in February when I got frustrated at the terrible reception I was getting). I got a voucher for £10 off with that purchase and so bought a fancy aerial too.
When I got back home and tried to set it all up the television could not find any signal. At all! And that was with the fancy aerial plugged in. It was ........ disappointing to say the least.
I fiddles around with it and eventually managed to get some channels loaded, but none were clear and most are not even watchable. I know this estate has trouble with television signals, but I thought digital was meant to make things better, easier. It doesn't seem to be any better than analogue (which I also had trouble tuning into, and are not clear at all).
So, basically, I am in the same position as before I spend £150 on new technology. I can't watch any television channels but I can play dvd's.
Any ideas you may have on improving my viewing capabilities would be greatly appreciated.

Digital sucks here in the states
have u got a freeview tv?
try a signal booster apparently they make signals better
I bought a fancy aerial with it that is meant to have a booster, but that doesn't help much. I think it may be because I have to storeys above me, a great big concrete tower next door and a 4-storey building across the road from me, all blocking the signal. I managed to get a clear(ish) signal on one channel last night though, so a bit of progress!
Tall structures like that do interrupt the new digital signals. Here in the US it's such a rip off because the only way to get a clear decent picture is by way of cable or satellite which of course you must pay for. It's probaly the same in th UK. Conspiracy you think?
