Today didn't start well. After staying up until about 01:00 with the flatmates and then made my excuses and went to bed. I went straight to sleep, which I was very surprised at. Then I woke at 03:00 and didn't get back to sleep until about 05:00 only to be woken by my alarm at 06:00. Tesco was closed when I went to work, so I had no food with me and no drink either.
Before 07:00 had even arrived all the night staff had left, but I was still waiting for the final guard to arrive. One of the guards, a lazy one as you could probably have guessed, had gone home without asking permission first leaving us short handed. Luckily, it was only for 20 minutes.
On my first break I had a walk around but could find no shops open. Even McDonalds wasn't opening until 10:00. So I had to make do with a packet of crisps I found in my locker to tide me over. At lunch I tried Waitrose, but that was closed also and so had to walk to Tesco which, hoorah, was open.
The rest of the day was uneventful, except for my arguement with the guard who had left early when I asked him to explain why. He denied it and also denied that I had spoken to him about a similar incident weeks ago.
I was glad to get out of there and home as I was knackered and I was glad that I didn't have to deal with the problem of a night guard who hadn't turned up (for the second day running apparently). This particular guard was sacked from his previous company for repeatedly not turning up for work days at a time. It looks like he is going back to his alcoholic ways, just days before he was due to take over as a supervisor!!
