3 To Go

It was my first shift back last night after the mixed up Christmas period. Nothing much has changed. It was still cold, though they have now added a decent heater up at the reception desk. I was really tired though, as I'd got up at about 10:00 yesterday morning, not much chance to sleep in with the road works outside my window still, and yes they woke me this morning too, though I managed to get back to sleep, despite that and the loud music from my flatmate in the room next door. I wasn't very well last night at work, with a dodgy stomach which isn't very good when you are stuck in the control room with no one to take over from you quickly.
To top off my night, at just after midnight my manager phoned and asked me to distract one of the guards so that he could "sneak" back in after a night out drinking, so that he could sleep in the building managers office before starting work at 07:00. I really hate drunk people when I am sober. It reminds me too much of my mum's boyfriend who was a drunk and became very verbally abusive and preaching when he was drunk, which was at least once a week. I couldn't wait to leave and did so at five minutes to seven, strangely enough the first one to go home because my manager wasn't awake yet and the other two guards weren't in yet, only the day surpervisor was in. It makes a nice change to be the first one out and not the last. I hope that trend continues all this weekend.
I updated my CV at work today, on Word (as I don't have word at home and most employers require it on Word and no other system when you are sending it via email), so I am all prepared should a possible job come along (not that it is likely with the current climate, in the last week I have not seen a single job that I would want to apply for or could apply for, but I shall keep looking).

I think I am getting a bit old to be an air steward, not to mention that I don't have the patience for pure customer service positions like that anymore! Cheers for the idea though.
