Part Two - For The Second Time!

*****Spoiler Warning Again*****

I've just watched (most of) The End of Time - Part Two on iPlayer. I say most of because I gave up on the last five minutes as my internet connection was very intermittent as two of my flatmates are in and obviously both on line too! Bastards!
It is much better the second time around as the weight of expectation is not there. I was able to just concentrate on enjoying the trip and appreciating the brilliant performances put in by all, but especially David Tennant and Bernard Cribbins.

I am left wondering though, how The Doctor survived such a long fall from the ship, when a shorter fall onto grass "killed" the Fourth Doctor! Surely, he should have regenerated from this?
I am also disappointed that, with the Time Lords locked back in the Time War, that we may never get to see The Skaro Degradations, The Horde of Travesties, The Nightmare Child, or the Could've-Been King and his army of Meanwhiles and Neverweres. They all sounded fascinating. Oh well!
And can anyone put me out of my misery about the aliens in the Cantina scene? What race is the white ape-thing, and the red-faced (and white-faced) humanoids? And what episodes do they appear in? Or are they old Who? In which case I will feel less of an idiot.

I am glad that there isn't too long to wait until the return of Dr Who, with the inaugural adventure of Dr Eleven and his new assistant. I am going to try and leave my expectations at the door and enjoy it for what it is (and who they are)! I do hope, though, that there is a spattering of old Who to keep the right feel, but enough new stuff to give Matt Smith his own legacy. We shall see.

Hi It's Tim.

The Red & white faced humanoids were apparent in most of the stories - 'gridlock' etc - from the year 5 billion. All the others were probably from millennium Fx's stock room which probably meens that they hail from 'Space Precinct' or some other crappy british made sci fi. The red & white humans have never had their species named.

Over & out. XX

Cheers Tim, though I wish that I knew where I had seen that white gorilla thing before! It's bugging me!

I think there was a white gorrila in Star Treck or Space 1999 - But it wouldn't be from them. I dont know where else we'd have seen one but I'd assume it would be a british made scifi/fantas within the last 10 or 15 years - however long Millennium FX has been in business for. Tim

Yeah, I originally thought that the gorilla was a Mugato (Star Trek) but it looks completely different.
Maybe it's a preview of the upcoming series? Let's hope not, eh!
