ProsePoint

I've just discovered a wonderful thing.

I have long wanted to compile my own web magazine making LGBT information and history available to anyone, a sort of first stepping stone to get gay people interested and informed about things, people, places and events that are contained within our rich culture.
As seen in the post I put out daily on this blog, about LGBT births, deaths and events, I would probably format this in daily "issues" with the topics dictated by who was born or died, or what events in LGBT history had happened, on that day. For example, picking a "slow" day: 29th February would feature Willi Smith, Aileen Wuornos & Pedro Zamora, who were all born on that date, & Violet Trefusis and Sinclair Ross who both died that day.
Alternatively, or additionally, I could produce subject based issues, such as comic book characters, Dr Who, sports people, or region-based issues (LGBT Essex? maybe not!).

Currently, I do not have the software (or hardware) or possibly the ability to produce these, but my new discovery may facilitate this for me. ProsePoint is free software that enables the user to produce web-based magazines in varying formats, styles and sizes. I am not technically minded, especially when it comes to computer-speak, but it sounds easy to use too, much like Blogger, as html isn't a required skill to use the system. All you seem to need is a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, which I have.
The software does, however, need to be installed on your pc / laptop and I am trying to discover how much memory this would take as I know my (cheap) laptop doesn't have lots of memory (though how much it does have I have no idea exactly).
There are also lots of editions, with the latest showing as ProsePoint 0.29. I know that, with some systems, the latest version isn't always the best and so this is where you all come into the equation. Do any of you, my lovely readers, use this system already, or know of someone else who does? Or, do you (or they), have the technical know-how to decipher what system is best? I would really like to start this project soon, as I have made a couple of false starts on it already over the last 2 years and am beginning to lose hope. Any help that you can provide would be gratefully received.

If I do get these "magazines" started it will help me to improve my written work and style and my researching ability. Then, once they are of an appropriate standard, I could use them as examples of my abilities to help me apply for more interesting jobs.
