Drinks

I went out for drinks last night after all. I was tempted to call it off because of the weather, but when the rain stopped, and I realised that I would be going out in daylight for the first time this year, I decided to go ahead with the night out. As I left the flat I got a text from Tim asking where I was. I texted back explaining that I would be in town in 20 minutes and asking where he was. I was anticipating getting to the pub and not having to wait on my own for someone to turn up for a change. When I got off the tube I got a reply from Tim to say that he was out with his work colleagues and so I would indeed be on my own for a while. Oh well!
I stood in my usual spot in Rupert Street and could not spot any non-bar staff that I fancied. I was contemplating going to Comptons instead when Tim texted to say he was on his way, so I stayed. Then one decent guy turned up, good looking, nicely dressed and built. He was a bit shorter than me but sexy. Tim turned up and decided that he wanted to stand at the other end of the bar, who knows why, but just as we headed off I spotted the perfect "in" with the short sexy guy. He was obviously wearing a new shirt as I had spotted a sticky label in the back of his collar. I told him as we walked off, trying not to embarrass him as I did so. I was hoping that I would spot him again later and have a chance to chat, but it didn't happen.
Stood at the other end of the bar, we were cramped instead of the space we had been in. While we were stood there we spotted Gareth coming in to the bar on his crutches (he'd had an accident while skiing). He stopped to chat with us for a while, with his Canadian friend, whose name I have forgotten. It was nice but then I got asked one of the questions that I hate: "What do you do in your spare time?"
I hate that question because I do nothing in my free time (except the gym now) and so it reveals the emptiness of my life. He tried to reassure me that I wasn't boring, or at least that was what it appeared he was doing. But, in the end he had to admit, but didn't have to say it out loud, that I WAS boring. I've gone off Gareth slightly!
We all got onto the subject of Tim and Niall (as Niall was due to join us shortly). I revealed to them that Niall had found out Tim's real age while he was unconscious (after his accident). I was unaware that I wasn't meant to reveal this without Tim's permission. We were all laughing about this and then, in a puff of imaginary smoke, he appeared while we were still laughing. I felt a bit guilty, but had to ask Gareth's friend the question, "Did we say his name three times?"
Gareth and friend soon left and we had a couple more drinks then Tim decided to go home and I decided to head off to Barcode.
Being the day before Good Friday it was almost the equivalent to actually being a Friday and so Barcode was packed. It was however, because they had not opened the downstairs bar. After one drink, and a quick chat with a guy who turned out to play for the Steelers (they are everywhere), I left and got the tube home.
It was really nice to catch up with Tim, and I got a few compliments about my physique again, which I am never going to tire of!
Now though I am obsessed with finding something to do in my spare time, other than the gym, so that I can answer that god-awful question without embarrassment! What to do? What to do?
