Stick your heads in the sand time!!

Never wanted to go to the Bahamas or China anyway, now I have a valid reason not to!!
It's a case of "If we deny it exists enough, then it will cease to exist!" syndrome I think.

Home & Away

Was watching Home & Away yesterday, after missing it for nearly a week for various reasons, and it is really good at the moment. It turns out that Irene isn't really mad, it is because Corey is poisoning her with Mercury Crystals!!! The swine.
Have just read that Scott and Hayley finally give in to their feelings today, about time, just wish it was the real Hayley not the imposter (I just don't feel the same about the character since the actress changed).
This was not just an excuse to post a picture of Kip Gamblin either, before you think it was!! But as I've mentioned him, here he is with the real Hayley (bring her back, pleeeese)....

Just found out that he is leaving Home & Away too, was devastated for a while until I found out that he has landed a role as a paramedic in Casualty, whew. Once a week is better than nothing I guess.

Morning to you all

Teasing

Serenity

Watched a DVD the other day that a colleague lent me, Serenity. Another mate of mine had recomended it as well, so I thought I'd give it a go. Good film, not brilliant, but worth watching and will probably watch it again. But there were also 3 other reasons to watch, apart fromthe action, special effects and humour. Those reasons are: Nathan Fullion, Adam Baldwin and Alan Tudyk. Three very hot guys.

Nathan was the only one to get anywhere near naked (there was a hint of but cleavage, and a topless scene), very sexy.

Adam Baldwin had a sexual aura around him, very hot, and very tall and fit. I recognised him from Independence Day too. As you can see, he is very fit>>

And Alan looked really hot and hunky in Serenity, but I can't find any pictures to do that justice, though he is still a good looking guy.

My Comic Book Hero Groups.

Alpha Flight

I first heard of Alpha Flight when reading a letters page in an issue of Marvel Two-In-One, one of my favourite old comics. It mentioned all these characters that I had never heard of, and wanted to know more about. I eventually managed to get hold of an issue with Sasquatch in and was even more intrigued. When the Alpha Flight series was launched I was hooked. John Byrne's artwork was one of the main reasons, but also the stories and the diversity of characters and the fact that the group most often worked separately. Even when Byrne stopped and the artwork deteriorated, in my opinion, I still loved the series for its diversity. I was also intruiged by the histories of some of the members in particular, notably Northstar ( I had my suspisions about him long before he was "allowed" to come out).

Sasquatch was another of my fave characters in the series and I was upset when he was killed off (though he was brought back pretty quickly), Nemesis was an interesting and underused character with a mysterious past, and the Inuit Gods also interested me because of my long-standing interest in mythology, Snowbird was interesting because of her transformation abilities (another interest of mine being natural history), Puck represented disabilities, which weren't represented much at the time (as was Roger Bochs), and Marrina was a great innocent hero.

The second and third series' of Alpha Flight have been disappointments, as was the Northstar limited series. Bring back the old style and old format and it will surely last more than 2 years this time, thats what I say.

Not happy

Work is getting me down again. Have had to come into work for a "Contractually Obligated Day" or COD for short, ironic if you know what COD means in theatre circles! Basically we have to do 2 extra days a month to make up out contracted hours! The only available date for me was today for my second one, which is a bit of a pisser as I was off for the last two days and am off tomorrow too, so it has split up my rest time. I was meant to be working with my boss, learning a new (for me) procedure but as the staffing managers can't do their job properly I have had to come to a building that I haven't worked in for over a year to cover a position I don't normally do. Not happy at all, especially as I was meant to be finishing early and now I can't.
I am now sat in the control room bored out of my head and I don't even have a news station to watch as they have no television in here! I suppose it should make me feel lucky to be in the job I do most of the time, but to be honest it doesn't. Getting to dislike this place more and more, but can't find a job to match the pay I get here! Catch 22 situation.

Anyway, that is my moan over for the day, just had to get it off my chest.

Just thought I'd share him with you. Gorgeous or what?

Today's Hero Of The Day

Simon Hawkins is today's hero of the day. He was a firefighter from Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, UK, who lost a leg in a motorcycle accident. Simon's wife Annie informed him about a fire fighter in the USA, Bill Henry (another hero I think), who had returned to work after receiving an artificial limb and Simon travelled to meet him.
Family and friends of Simon aided him in raising £20,000 to pay for a specialised artificial leg for him, which was fireproof and was made by the same firm that provides artificial limbs for Heather Mills-MacCartney. He has since returned to work after regaining his fitness level and proving he could perform all the tasks he could previously. He even got to appear on "Richard & Judy!"
Congratulations Simon and good luck.
I wish I could show you this limb, but I can't find a decent picture it is impressive to look at.

Just for Donnie

Thanks mate.

Do Not Forget

Everyone, don't forget it is Mother's Day today in the UK. Do not forget to treat your mother with the respect she deserves. When she is gone, you may regret not treating her better.

Mom, I miss you loads. All my love.

Comments

This will be my only request for comments, as it reaks of desperation, but I have only had one person comment so far. Just let me know what you think, I won't be offended, honest, well, I might be but I won't let on. And, I promise that the more comments I get, the more pics like this......

........you will see. Come on, you know you love these pics as much as I do.

More Zeb Atlas.

My current screen saver....

I love these characters on Scene-OUT.com they are so great ( I bet they would sell as figures, hint hint guys?!?!) And so am using this picture as my current work screen saver. The second guy from the left looks like one of my hunky, straight colleagues as well which worries him slightly, for some reason. Actually, I think its me that worries him, (is stalking still illegal?).

The site for Scene-out is great too, great photos of the London scene and I've only just discovered there is other stuff too.

Why Britain is so bad at sports.

Front page story in the Metro about a month ago, during the Winter Olympics but before the Commonwealth Games had started, was a story about 2 British gymnasts had to quit their sports because they couldn't afford to train any more. Daniel Cater, only 18, and Ben Brown, aged 21 both had to quit. I think the saddest thing of all was that Ben Brown was in a promotional poster for the bid for 2012 Olympics, "Leap For London." So, having helped Lord Coe and his bid for people to like him, or whatever it was, poor Ben and Daniel were abandoned. No wonder we can't maintain any good form in any of our sports for any length of time, we don't fund them unless it's furthering someone else's fame or fortune.

If I had £15,000 spare (yes that is all it would take!), I would fund one of them myself.

Gay footballers?

Was discussing gay footballers at work tonight with my straight colleagues. The Ashley Cole story thing stared it off, with some other rumours one of my colleagues had heard. I wouldn't like to speculate on who is, without meeting them or knowing them who would know for sure? But, the odds are good for there being loads in the top football teams. If the widely accepted figure of 1 in 10 men are gay, then each first team would have at least one gay player. I could have great fun choosing who I would like to be THE gay one in each team, but shan't do that here.
I do think that it is about time that someone had the courage to just come out and say "Yep, I'm gay, but what does it matter." As soon as one comes out and takes the flack for a while it will be easier for the rest to come out. It would be great to have an honest representative in that world, but financially it could be suicide. And the only example that I know of a footballer coming out, Justin Fashanu ended with the guy committing suicide after being abandoned by other footballers and even his brother allegedly.

Freddie Ljungberg who I'm not saying is gay, though I wouldn't mind. The adverts he did for Calvin Klein were great, very horny. Come on guys take that first step, I'm sure the rest will follow close behind.

Yawn

Am at work still, and I'm really bored so I thought I'd find a nice pic or two to share here.......
Can you see a theme?

Batman!

No, not that one. Have you been watching the Commonwealth Games? If not, why not? Some good performances all around and some lovely guys there too. Point in case being the Aussie sprinter Daniel Batman, gorgeous, nicely built and with a packet that's hard to keep your eyes off! Found it quite amusing when he won a race the other day and a guy named Dolphin came second!

Gabe Kapler

I was so happy to find some new pictures today of one of my fave sportsmen (looks-wise fave that is). Gabe Kapler, an American baseball star. I found them on Kenneth in the (212) so am very grateful to him for the treat. Gabe is so horny, one of the most beautiful men alive with a horny, hairless, muscular body, that he just loves to show off. Am gonna spend part of my evening, at least, just admiring the new pics.

I nearly ended up naked!!!!

Well, not quite, but while walking along Charing Cross Road to get to the bus stop, on my way to work, I brushed up against a metal cage around the trunk of a tree at the side of the road. There was a bolt sticking out of the cage and it caught on the side seam of my jeans. I hadn't realised it was caught and carried on walking. I heard a rip and then noticed that there was a 2 foot tear in my jeans and a breeze around my nether regions. I was a bit pissed off, as they are one of my fave pairs of jeans, and also a bit embarrassed. I had to hold the two sides of the rip together as I walked along so stop my blushes, and I got cramp in my hand as I did so. I don't think too many people noticed though. At least I have a uniform to change into when I got to work, I'll just have to wear my uniform trousers home in the morning, yes I'm on nights again.

If I hadn't got laid last night then I would probably be more upset. (Just HAD to mention that, it happens so rarely nowdays).

Random Hunk Picture for your (my) pleasure.

My Comic Book Heroes

I think I've focussed on the hunky heroes so far, so I think it's about time I featured one of my favourite female superhero:

Ms Marvel

Ms Marvel became a fave of mine when I first saw her with the Avengers battling the Grey Gargoyle (incidentally, this is also when I fell in love with the blue-furred Beast). I loved the issues of her first series that I could get, which was never that easy when I was younger.

The things I liked about her were her look, beautiful and tough, stylish 9for the 70's), and confident. Then Marvel did a brave and rare thing, they sacrificed her, a popular character, for the sake of a great storyline, when she was raped and abducted by Marcus Immortus and then subsequently had her powers and identity stolen by Rogue. This was a powerful storyline which could have been delved into in more detail, but never was, ans she was seemingly forgotten. I lost my favourite female character, seemingly for good.

She later returned as Binary, in an issue I still have yet to read, but even then she was virtually ignored for a couple of years. I liked it when she returned in Quasar and again seemed to sacrifice herself to save our Sun.

When she eventually reurned as Warbird, seemingly for good, in the third series of the Avengers I was thrilled. She had even more problems to deal with then, when she was revealed as an alcoholic, and who can really blame her with all she had been through. Now, Marvel have done the right thing and given her back her own series and her own name, and I am thrilled. I hope it isn't short-lived like many of their other recent series'. I hope that Marvel do her proud.

Make mine Ms Marvel!

Commonwealth Games 2006 - Update

England are doing really well in the Commonwealth Games 2006, we have no chance of catching up to Australia now, they have over 50 gold medals already, but if you check this link out you can see all of our winners, so far (we are sure to have many more). Well done to Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man(who are beating Jersey and Guernsey), Jersey and Guernsey too.
Well done all.

Chris Geary

A few years back I remember seeing a picture in a magazine somewhere and thinking, "Wow, that guy is gorgeous". It wasn't until a couple of years later that I realised what a successful businessman he was and how he gets better looking over time. If you haven't checked out his website then it's about time that you do. chrisgeary.co.uk is well worth checking out for hot pics, photos from worldwide gay events, party sponsorships and much much more. I look forward to going to any major gay event to see him and his boys with their big smiles and in their hotpants.

Keep up the fantastic work Chris, you are an inpiration to any budding gay businessman or woman. I hope that you don't mind using pictures from your site, but it is one of my fave sites. I love you and admire you, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

The Date

OK so it wasn't a successful date, but mine tend not to be. Oh well. I really would like to meet someone nice who just gets me, but I think I'm gonna have to look a lot harder than I have been.
Laurence Dallaglio where are you when I need you? I'm descrete honest, I won't write about it here .............. much.

The Most Inspirational Person in My Life

As I said last week, Monday is the Day of Heroes. Today I dedicate my blog to my greatest hero, my Mum.
There is alot of stuff I don't want to go into here, but she was amazing. Even though she died nearly 7 years ago I am still learning, and realising, new things about her.

My father died when I was 7 leaving my mum alone to bring up four kids. I was the youngest with my brother 12, and my sisters 14 & 16. I really don't know how my mum managed, financially or emotionally. I know she had to fight to get her widow's pension initially, but she always had a full time job, and occasionally a part-time one too.

She was on her own for a long time after, on and off, and a lot of the time it was just her and myself living at home. I never got around to telling her that I'm gay, as I had the feeling that she wouldn't approve, though I know she knew, and I know she would also love me no matter what. I just didn't tell her, I think, because I ddn't want to disappoint her.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I realised that my mother had suffered from depression too, not surprising given her circumstances. I also know she had at least one major breakdown. None of the four of us kids made things easy for her; I was really lazy and spoiled, my brother was a bit of a rebel, breaking things and getting trouble with the police at least once, the younger of my sisters was a real brat, she took my dad's death really hard and developed self-confidence problems, and my eldest sister felt put-upon and left home as soon as she could to go to become a nurse.

Mum was taken for granted by us all, we believed she would be there whatever, and that we didn't have to treat her as well as she deserved. I can't imagine any of us coping as well as she did under the same circumstances.

As I said, she died too early a few years back from cancer. It was a shock, I didn't see it coming, although I should've. She'd had a hysterectomy when I was still at school and I believe this was linked. She had suffered all her life, firstly from very mild spina bifida (a small hole in her spine), she suffered also from migraines (which, according to last weeks news could've been caused by a small hole in her heart too), and she also suffered from arthritis and rheumatism. Each one is a major thing on its own for one person to deal with, I can't imagine dealing with all of the above myself.

I miss my mum, and wish I could tell her how much I admire her for all she did for us all, and how she coped with all the things she had to deal with in her life. She is a true inspiration and I hope I can be a fraction of the inspiration to someone, maybe my nephews or nieces, that my mum is still to me.

I love you mum, my biggest hero and my longest companion. I hope you were happy most of the time and I hope I didn't disappoint you too much.

XxX

I have a question...

Can anyone tell me where this bar is? Or at least where this barman works now?
He is amazing. He has a fantastic body, great skin, beautiful eyes, is gorgeous in a masculine way, has fantastic arms (I am So very much an arms man), and has the Wolverine haircut. And what is more, to top it all, he's serving alcohol. That has to be close to THE Perfect Man!

Testing, testing...

Well, I've managed to download a picture, AT LAST, this picture of Moon Knight is my screen saver at work (which is where I am now). I am SO looking forward to the new Moon Knight ongoing series, if the cover art is anything to go by then it should be amazing. Bring it on.

Picture problems!!

Well, I was gonna share my current screen saver with you today, but am having trouble uploading pictures. I don't seem to be the only one either, some people have been having problems since Friday, but mine was alright yesterday. Oh well, will keep trying, if I can't do it here will try from work (though I don't have the same screen saver there) I'll give you a hint, Chris Wide. If you don't know who he is, Google him.

Hope to chat to you soon WITH PICS.

X3 news

Am I the only person to have missed the fact that Jamie Madrox, Multiple Man will also be appearing in X3? I haven't seen any news of this until I just did a random image search on Google for Multiple Man. Eric Dane will be playing the Multiple Man in X3 as an ally of Magneto's Brotherhood. Now Madrox isn't one of my favorite characters, far from it, but I am all for introducing non-comic book fans to new characters whenever possible. So well done to whoever decided to put him in the new film. All the news that I'm hearing is making me want to see the film nore and more. And that is saying something, I was really excited when I saw the shadow in the water at the end of X2, so my enthusiasm is increasing exponentially.

By contrast I have seen that Arclight will also be in the film and I'm a bit wary about this. I like Arclight and would love to see her more in the comics, so hopefully her appearance in the film will be a prelude to this, but I don't like her look. Callisto could be good, and I have no opinion of Quill as he is such a minor character in the comics at the moment, again this could change. I am very worried about Vinnie Jones playing the Juggernaut though. He's not a very good actor (sorry Vinnie) and he really isn't big enough to play the Juggernaut, and isn't American (please say that he isn't going to attempt an accent?!).

Great night out

Went out last night with my good mates Tim and Richard and had a really good time. Always enoy their company. Good luck for Friday by the way Tim, you'll breeze it. Started off in Barcode for one then to the Duke of Wellington (not my fave pub) and then into Comptons for a few. Tim and Richard then went home and I went back to Barcode until it closed. I love it in there, even if I am on my own. Great music, great barstaff (well, except the new Brazillian-looking barman who is a bit slow but very cute and fit) and people mostly out for a good time.
I was a bit p****d and so went to 79CXR despite promising myself I wouldn't go there any more. I am glad that I did as I got talking to a really cute Australian guy from Adelaide, named Grant, and we got on really well. I didn't go home with him, though I would have loved to, but I was the worse for the drink and didn't want to show myself up. Will be in touch to arrange another meeting very soon though, possibly Monday, so I'll keep you updated.

When I got home I turned on the television to find the Commonwealth Games were on and it was the mens gymnastics, fantastic. We have some great gymnasts, not just in looks but in skill too. Ryan Bradley is gorgeous and was soing really well as was Ross Brewer. Ross was the only one I could find any decent pictures of, hopefully that will change in the next few days. Ross is married, unfortunately for us guys, but hey we can still look. Good luck to both these guys and to the rest of our athletes.

The Aussie guys are really fit too, with Phillippe Rizzo being one of my faves, he reminds me a bit of Kip Gamblin from Home & Away. And Steven Barry Friedman of South Africa is hot too.

Last night's Killer instinct

Killer Instinct was a good one last night, as usual. Johnny Messner was fantastically sexy as always too. He is such a sexy guy, great looking, fantastic body and a great drawl in his voice, very sexy. But, have you seen him run? I don't know exactly what it is, but he just doesn't look natural when he's running. A very small thing which would NOT put me off him one little bit. He is gorgeous.
I haven't seen him in anything else, that I know of, but would definately like to. I will keep my eye out for anything starring him.

Jake Gyllenhaal

Nothing much on the television last night so I decided to watch "Day After Tomorrow" again. Love the film, fantastic spercial effects. AND it reinforces my attraction to Jake Gyllenhaal. Unlike a lot of the actors I like, I wasn't physically attracted to Mr G when I first saw him (almost the opposite actually), but I began to like the character he portrays in public and in his films. He comes across as a real sweetheart with a sensative side.

Bless him.

Now there are pictures being published with his nice buff, but attainable physique, which makes me even more attracted to the talented actor. Look forward to seeing even more of him, literally and in films.

CSI last night

2 Fantastic episodes of CSI & CSI: Miami last night.
CSI was the first part of a two-parter (bet I miss next weeks for some reason), with a police officer being shot, during a car chase and gun battle, possibly by one of his colleagues.
CSI: Miami was about a bank raid during a tsunami, which was also really good.

The only criticism I would have would be in CSI, George Eads has grown an aweful moustache, really doesn't suit him (must have been for a film or something), really horrid.
And with CSI: Miami, the tidal wave graphics were dissapointing, but neither of these spoiled my viewing much.
Was too tired to watch the repeat of Prison Break, though I really wanted to.

Can't wait until 19:00 tomorrow as I will have then finished my 7 day shifts in a row and I can have a rest. Well, I will be going out the next night, Friday, as it is St Patrick's Day and it should be really busy. Will have to pursuade my mates to come out too. Shall have to find myself a nice Irish guy to help celebrate in some way, just to do my bit for international relations obviously.

I will let you know how my "diplomatic" mission goes.

My Comic Book Heroes

Over the years I have fancied quite a few heroes, mainly Marvel, but also some DC ones too. They range from Captain America, Angel, Thor, Hercules, Colossus, Batman, Element Lad, the Hulk (when he was brainy), and even Spider-Man.
But I must say that I really miss seeing and reading Quasar (Wendell Vaughn). Apart from the fact that he was gorgeous, blond-haired, blue-eyed and muscluar in a realistic way, I loved the stories.

When the Quasar comic started I thought "I'll give it a go," but was soon hooked. I loved the fact that he was a hero who admitted he was still learning and had doubts about himself. I also loved the fact that the book used so many characters that were being ignored for far too long, such as the Squadron Supreme, Alpha, Futurist, Gargoyle, Her, Maelstrom and his Minions, Eon, Erishkigel, Over-Mind and the whole New Universe to name but a few.

Also, the comic introduced many new characters, some good, some not-so-good; Angler, new members of the Imperial Guard (Voyager, Onslaught, Hardball, Gloom), new members of the Elders of the Universe (Caregiver, Explorer, Architect), Weird Sisters, Origin, the Mourners, and others.

I was dismayed when the book was cancelled, around the time that many of my favorite books were also cancelled (Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers West Coast), it was a dark time. I would love to see Quasar re-launched in a new book of his own, or at least as a regular member of a group somewhere, though I think, given his job as Protector of the Universe, working alone would be better. He is the modern-day, all-American hero, similar in his yearning to do well as Captain America, so I can't see why Marvel can't bring him back. So I'm calling to everyone out there who agrees to write to Marvel and tell them... "WE WANT QUASAR BACK, NOW!"

Prison Break

I am loving Prison Break more and more each week. Last nights episode was fantastic, great developments and more background on Nick Savrinn's character, yes I am starting to fancy him too. Even more reason to watch, not that I need it. It was that good that I may even watch the repeat again tonight. Can't wait for the next episode, and I really want to know how it ends up. Fantastic series. I love it.
Got CSI & CSI: Miami tonight, so am very happy.

Some people's idea of Heaven!

Saw this story this morning, definately know quite a few people who would live this to happen to them. I'd prefer if it was cider though.

Monday: Day of Heroes!

As I said initially, when I started this blog about a week ago,I wanted some structure to the blog, and there are certain different subjects I'm interested in and want to chat about.
Monday, I've decided, is going to be my "Day of Heroes!"
I was looking for a specific person to choose as todays hero, but came upon a site that caught my attention, and my interest, and really got me thinking:

"My Hero" is a site which allows you to write about, draw, or just share your feelings about someone who has inspired you in your life, or who you feel is a real hero in life, whom you may or may not have met. It is for all types of heroes and I urge you to check it out and contribute if you wish to. I will be contributing soon, but have to compose my thoughts before I even try. Think about someone, or a group, who has made a difference to your life or the life of someone you care about, really think about it and then tell everyone how special those people are. Not everyone has someone to look up to, to respect, or to trust. So, be generous and share yours with these people. Just as a smile is infectious, hopefully sharing these heroic actions, of whatever form, hopefully will also be infectious.

I hope that one day we can all celebrate an International Day of Heroes, much like Mother's Day or Father's Day, but on a worldwide scale. This wonderful site could be a good place to begin.

X-Men 3: Cool

Great picture here of Famke Jannsen as Jean Grey in the next X-Men film (X-Men: The Last Stand), she is looking so cool I can't wait to see the whole thing, should be fantastic.
Not so sure about Vinnie Jones as the Juggernaut, and Ben Foster as Angel (sorry Ben, but you just aren't gorgeous enough to play my favourite mutant playboy hero).
Will be nice to have my fix of Hugh Jackman again, he has to be THE hottest Hollywood star at the moment.

I just wish that they would stop putting Ghost Rider back.
