Pat Tillman
I'm all for people having their own heroes, feel free to look up to anyone you want, just don't force your oppinion on anyone else. Same goes for religion. But I feel there is a BIG difference between celebrity heroes and REAL heroes. Here is a tragic story of a man who went from Celebrity Hero to Real hero and paid the ultimate price, and the true story was hushed up by the US authorities. All I can say is treat your heroes with real respect guys.
Pat Tillman (6-11-76 - 22-04-04) was a true American Football star who played for the Arizona Cardinals. After completing the football season following the 9-11 attacks he turned down a £3.6 million three-year contract to enlist with his brother in the US Army, serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Pat died in a friendly fire incident in Afghanistan, it was initially stated that hostile forces were also involved but this proved to be false. He is an example of what I consider to be a true hero, sacrificing comfort to fight what he truly believed in to defeat the evil he saw in the world.
R.I.P. Pat.
