Clapham Street Party

Yesterday I attended the Clapham Street Party for the first time. The weather was being its usual undecided self in the morning so I really couldn't decide what to wear. When it came time to leave it was still overcast and very windy, so I decided on jeans and a long sleeved top. By the time I got to Clapham the sun was out and I was roasting, typical. I met Eric in the queue for the cashpoint and Humberto was just across the road when I'd got my cash, very lucky eh?

We went in and, initially, I was a bit disappointed to see that the street party was just a street closed off for the day with one stage at the far end, that you had to be within 20 feet of to hear the music, singing or talking clearly, the rest was just a couple of "bars" and the toilets!

To start with there was no one there that I knew and even fewer good looking guys, but eventually, after Humberto had said hello to a million people (I may be exaggerating there) I started to see some people that I actually knew too, though not many.

We had a good day, the sun was out almost the whole time and, luckily for me, Manhunt were promoting there and so I got a free vest top from them which I had to pose in for a couple of photos. I was so happy to get out of the long sleeved top, but didn't want to go topless.

Thain and Darren were there, briefly. Roger was also there with a couple of gorgeous mates all in cowboy-style hats.

There were also a couple of celebrities: A porn star whose name escapes me at the moment, which is annoying because I watched a clip of one of his films yesterday on a blog and now it has been removed. One of the dancers from this years So You Think You Can Dance was also there.

I got a snog from a muscular guy, but failed to get his number (I think he may have had a boyfriend around somewhere though). In fact I didn't get anyone's numbers, or even their Facebook details.

But, all-in-all it was a great afternoon.

Humberto and Eric left around 21:30 and I went into Soho, first to Comptons and then to Rupert Street where I joined Giuseppe and Marco (both former snogs of mine) and their friends and had even more fun a great conversation. I ended up going home with Giuseppe, which seemed to take ages on the night bus.

We had sex, but I found, once again, that I couldn't sleep in someone else's bed and so had to go and sleep on the sofa. I didn't get much sleep though, maybe a couple of hours on and off, probably because of all the Red Bull I'd had with my vodkas! I eventually left his at around 9 and was so happy to get home and shower.

I am so tired now!!

Scary

I decided yesterday to work out how much my little holiday had actually cost me. Taking into account accomodation, travel, insurance, spending money and mobile phone charges (which are extortionate), I worked out that my 4 day holiday (well 3 and a couple of hours) cost me about £850. And that is not taking into account the £200 I lost for taking 2 days off sick! That is a really scary thought, especially when I want to go to Australia for 3 weeks next year!! No wonder I am back to using my overdraft facility again, or at least I will be when I draw out tonight's spending money. Here's hoping for a little cash injection very soon (Lotto?)!!

Birthday Drink Update

So I've been checking my event listing on Facebook regularly today to see who has accepted my invite to Rupert Street tomorrow night for my (pre)birthday drinks. I know it is sad to keep checking, but after last year (when only 2 people turned up), I soooo want to have a big crowd there, and, dare I say it, I want to be the centre of attention for a change.
It seems that those who hadn't responded to my invite by yesterday have no intention of letting me know if they will be turning up as it still only shows 5 people saying "yes" they will attend, with one "maybe," 4 have said they can't. In addition to this I have had some replies via text (those people who aren't on FB), 3 said "yes," 2 are "maybes" and 5 can't.
I just got a "maybe" from a guy I know from the gym, Elliot, via Grindr.
Richard has not said yes or no yet.
I hadn't had a reply, on FB, from Jeirdel (who I obviously really want to turn up), so I sent him a personal invitation and he replied saying he would try. Nick (from the gym) is also a "maybe."
So, all in all, there should be 8 people in addition to myself, with 7 maybes. Out of those invited who haven't answered on FB, only 9 more are potentially going to be able to come along, with some of those not very likely.

I hope I am not left disappointed tomorrow night. I don't get presents on my birthday, so I would at least like some presence. Fingers crossed.

Birthday Plans

So Tim can't make it for birthday drinks AT ALL over the next week or so, that doesn't stop me from going out for a few bevvies. I've created an event on Facebook and invited the relevant people from my friends list to it. I decided to have drinks at Rupert Street at 20:00 as it is the bar that I like best, stuff everyone else. I've had two people accept the invitation on Facebook already and one other person tell me in person they are going to be there. Nick even said that he would turn up for a quick one, but he is working the next day, though I am taking that with a pinch of salt. I don't expect him to turn up at all.
I also sent out texts to all my friends who aren't on Facebook, or at least are not my friends on there. Let's see who turns up.
I just want to have a good time with a good mixture of people, a good amount of flirting and a load of snogging too (especially if Jeirdel turns up).
Oh, you're all invited too.

Barcelona in Pictures

I just realised that, when I detailed my Barcelona trip, I forgot to include pictures as I had intended, so here they are:
This was my room, nice, eh? It was such a nice, firm but comfortable bed. This was the view of the void outside my window, nothing to talk about, but I did get about 20 minutes of daylight per day. This was the view from the living room and main bedroom, behind that green hedge is a tempting swimming pool, shame we weren't allowed to use it.Richard and Terry in our living room, sorry about the light effect.A building just along the road from our apartment with various weird maniquins on the balconies.Sagrada FamiliaA gorgeous guy at Sagrada Familia that Richard and I both stalked for a while, I think he was aware of us, as was his girlfriend / wife!!The Gaudi House, aka Casa Mila, which I loved for it's originality and organic feel. And various other random architecture.
Such a beautiful city, I wanna go back now.
