When I went to work on Thursday night, I saw an email from the Ops Manager to one of my colleagues telling him about a vacancy. The job itself sounds very similar to what I used to do before I got sacked 4 years ago and what my business was too, so I should have a good chance at it.
The colleague it was meant for wasn't interested but one of the other supervisors and I both were. He has an interview on Thursday and so I applied as well, sending my CV in when I got home on Friday morning.
When I woke up yesterday afternoon I saw that I had an email telling me that I have an interview for the position on Monday afternoon. I couldn't believe it. I've been applying for jobs for 4 years and this is the first interview I've been offered. I am really nervous, but I'm going to have to look at it as interview experience. Even if I don't get the position it will be a great chance to practice my interview technique.
I really should have been doing some research today for the job (finding out about the company, brushing up on my geography, politics and interview questions, I should also have been checking out if any of my suits still fit and are fresh enough to wear on Monday, but I've just been too tired and hungover. MaƱana.
