Christmas Lead-Up

A couple of weeks ago Tim sent out a text to a group of his friends suggesting we all meet up for a meal before Christmas. I thought it was a wonderful idea, as all we ever seem to do is go to the pub. Unfortunately, at the time, I was skint (it was around the time work was messing with my wages), so I declined. I managed to turn my finances around a bit and finally accepted the invite. No one else had accepted the invite though, other than Niall, but the three of us decided to go out anyway.

We went out on Friday night, meeting first in Rupert Street for one drink before going to Imperial China in Chinatown. It was a lovely restaurant and the food was great, and good value too. Afterward we went to the Duke of Wellington, after finding that Comptons was closed due to an earlier power failure in Soho. It was packed solid and so we had to stand outside in the cold, we were wrapped up though so it wasn't too bad. Tim and Niall went home after one drink, which I was a bit disappointed at, but I decided that I couldn't face the crowds either and went home too.

As I was coming up the escalator at Clapham North I heard a guy at the top coming down making a bit of a noise. When I saw it was Ben Harris (former Mr Gay UK and winner of the UK Playing It Straight television show), I had a big smile on my face, as I really fancy him. He saw me and smiled back and even turned around to continue smiling as he went down and I went up. It's the second time that I've seen him, maybe next time I'll be able to talk to him.

Last night I was back to work on night shifts, which was really annoying as it was also the night of the Kings Cross Steelers Christmas party. I really wanted to go, but couldn't get the time off. I've only seen one picture on Facebook so far, so don't know how it went.

While at work I took a quick look at the box of goodies that are being donated by work for Hampers Against Hunger. It is a massive box, and fairly heavy, which I'm not looking forward to having to lug all the way to Southend, especially as I'll have a bag of presents for my family to carry too. I think I am going to have to cut a couple of handles in the sides of it to help. Wish me luck.
